I just completed my wonderful stay in New York, and being able to rent a private room at Nick's was such a major factor! His place was cozy and cute as he's getting ready to decorate it for the holidays. The room was very clean and comfortable. I slept perfectly well every night. No outside noise or even inside noise (Nick, Tim and their dog sleeps a lot lol!) to really disturb me. I must mention that I was a bit worried about the location as I've never stayed above 80th street before. But this neighborhood felt safe to walk around at any time, has a very friendly and delicious 24-hour deli right on the corner, as well as immediate access to the subway. It's my first time taking the NYC subway after so many years to the city and it is so convenient. Nick's place is literally a block from the 1 subway going downtown then back uptown (which was what I did everyday after buying a 7-day metro pass). Just for me (I didn't quite explore the other subway lines, except A) going from 145th to 42nd/Timesquare and back was extremely easy and convenient. More about staying with Nick. Tim was away on a business trip mostly so I fin not see him often. Nick is a very nice and helpful hits, but very respectful and did not talk too much. The communal kitchen and bathroom is clean, just do the dishes after yourself. Nick leaves half a fridge empty for you to use as well. A quick inspection of their fridge revealed that except for the occasional fish, that my hosts were vegan. Even the dog doesn't eat meat. Which brings me to my favorite...the dog, Boris. Oh Boris, I am in love with this three year old French bulldog. I got him a welcome toy that I though was pretty indestructible (at least my dog would never had been able to scratch the toy). Boris went to town and by that night the toy was no more. The next day I went to a pet store and got him two more toys, but I think only the rubber Kong still survives. Boris is a terrific ball of joy. And if you have a dog you miss at home, Boris will barge into your heart and keep you company. I absolutely adore this little man. So yes! I would give Nick's place my unequivocal vote of confidence. I had a great time, a safe time and an unforgettable time...all for the best price I could find in Manhattan! I'm sure Nick will answer any further questions you have. But feel free to ask me too, I will back up this feedback with my recommendation.

Hosts Nick and Tim were absolutely lovely! Weeks before my arrival Nick was in constant contact with me with advice about transportation and any other much needed information. When I arrived the room was clean and just as the description stated along with a lovely gift basket which made me feel welcomed. During my stay, they were most friendly and helpful. And they have to cutest dog to boot!
