Guest space includes a private floor with bedroom, private bath, & TV/sitting room. Kitchen and living room are shared spaces that are sparingly used by the host. Located in lively Upper Queen Anne neighborhood which is quiet, quaint and very walkable. Just a couple minutes walk to numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping. Several bus routes stop just a couple blocks away and access to downtown Seattle is quick and easy.
Villa Hill is a 105 year-old Craftsman bungalow situated in a historic neighborhood of similarly unique homes.
The house is being lovingly restored to evoke the original charm of the Arts and Crafts Era.
This space includes a completely private floor with bedroom and a private bath. In addition to a private shower, the bathroom has a jacuzzi type soaking tub.
There is also a sitting room which is richly decorated in an Asian-inspired theme. This room has a TV with HBO, SHO, Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and other streaming channels. There is a comfortable futon for relaxing, reading and/or watching TV.
There is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee-maker in this room. I provide a continental breakfast in this room.
Guests occupy the entire upper floor. I try to tidy-up and restock breakfast items daily but other than that, the floor is your own.
Since I don't prepare breakfast for myself, I don't normally provide breakfast for guests. I do, however, provide protein bars, fruit, biscotti, yogurt, cheese and of course coffee and various types of tea. If requested, I will happily provide additional breakfast items.
I will meet guests, provide keys, give an orientation and provide any desired assistance with logistics and local recommendations.
I speak French, Italian and basic Spanish.
Free street parking is generally abundant.
Villa Hill is a smoke-free, pet-free space.
I am polite, respectful and inclusive. I hope that the space and myself will be treated with similar courtesies. I would appreciate quiet after midnight but am flexible and can make exceptions if advised in advance.
I am a retired engineer. My current occupation is restoring my 104 year-old Craftsman home. I lived in Europe for almost 20 years and I speak Italian, French, and a little Spanish. I traveled over 50% of the last 10 years of my working life and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. I've seen the best and the "far-less-than-best" in lodgings. I strive to provide a unique, convenient, and welcoming base for your visit to our lovely city of Seattle.
When I'm not working on the house, I enjoy woodworking, gardening, mushrooming, birding and have been known to sample good beer and wine.
