I'm offering a comfortable private bedroom in my apartment, suitable for a single guest. The room is in a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment in a quiet suburban area a few minutes from downtown Milwaukee. The bright guestroom, originally set up for my son's occasional use on visits, has a single (twin) bed, a desk and chair, and is nicely decorated, with large windows overlooking a fully secluded wooded area. Straight across the hall from the guestroom is a full private bathroom with washer and dryer for guest use, and a walk-in shower.
The apartment is eclectically decorated with art and antiques that are a reflection of my own interests. It has a large living room with a leather recliner couch facing an enormous flat-screen television with full surround sound system, loads of books and music, a private deck overlooking secluded woodlands, a full kitchen with negotiable guest privileges, and a dining room. The apartment is up two half-flights of stairs from a private ground floor entrance. Nearby parking is available.
Morning coffee or tea is included, and kitchen privileges are negotiable depending upon the length of the guest's stay, and their individual needs. Owner does not eat meat, and no cooking of meat would be permitted.
The apartment is literally a 10 minute drive to or from Mitchell International Airport, and very convenient to the area's interstate highway system. Public transportation (bus) is available nearby.
A small nine-hole 3-par golf course is just around the corner, and it's less than two miles to a grocery store, department store, and other shopping.
In summer months, access to the complex's outdoor pool is available, and there is a small fitness center for exercise.
No cooking or serving of meat is permitted.
Smoking is allowed.
Quiet time must be observed between 2200 and 0700.
Guests should not expect to invite friends for parties or gatherings. The accommodations are for the use of the designated guest only, with no visitors.
Hello! We are Alex and Cheryl, a professional couple from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. We both have been employed for many years by an engineering services firm.
Together we enjoy gardening, cooking, travel, music, opera, ballet, theater and film, bicycling, golf, football (soccer), and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, sunbathing and snorkeling.
Alex has a passion for history, especially the classical and medieval periods of Europe, and the Byzantine Empire. He is a philatelist with an extensive collection of US and foreign stamps, and a collector of art and antiques. In younger years he engaged in rock and ice climbing, and downhill skiing, and continues to pursue an interest in extreme camping and SCUBA. He has conversational skills in Spanish and German, and some facility in French, Slovene and Dutch.
Cheryl is a student of the piano, an excellent cook, and a regular fitness and exercise buff. She is an accomplished craftsperson, and has enhanced her home with many unique and decorative creations. She has studied German and French, and is currently learning conversational Slovene.
We are sociable, polite, respectful and respectable, and our hosts would find us to be excellent guests! We look forward to connecting with a host or hostess whenever we have the opportunity to travel.
Alex traveled on January 2013 with his son to Amsterdam for a visit of several days, and they were guests there of an AirBnB hostess, and the experience was wonderful. In August - September of 2013 we traveled to Slovenia and Italy, and were guests of four different AirBnB hosts during our travels, with each one being fantastic. We plan to revisit some in the future, and also search for new AirBnB hosts for all our trips.
