Come visit our 5 acre property backing up to Zion National Park! The cabin is located by the Zion Ponderosa Ranch and is 13 minutes from the East entrance to the park. The trail-heads to Cable Mountain and the East Rim Trail are out our front door!
Surrounded by towering Ponderosa Pines, privacy and quiet will be you new best friends! The full length of the 5 acre lot back up to Zion Nation Park! The cabin is rustic, but has a flushing toilet with running water from a gravity fed system. The water is from a well that is potable. It is necessary, however, to filter this water before drinking as it is stored in a cistern. We have provided a Britta filter pitcher to use. There is power to the cabin and a 32 inch HDTV with a Blu-Ray player for you to watch movies on. We keep the TV stuff stored in the bedroom closet as most guests don't end up using it! you can also bring a mobile Dish or Direct TV setup to use. We get cell service as well (ATT for sure!). If it gets cold, there are 2 electric radiant heaters that are overkill for the space, or a wood burning stove that will sweat you out no problem! If you are hot, we have a window air conditioning unit that we put up in the warmer months. 1 queen bed and 1 pullout couch will comfortably sleep 4, with just enough room for another air mattress if you want to try squeezing in more. All space included, you have all of 500 square feet to explore! We just redid the flooring and the cabin now has a nice wood laminate floor. The kitchen is stocked with most dishes and cooking pots, pans, and utensils. You will also have use of a full sized refrigerator, oven, and microwave. The shower in the bathroom works, but is on the small side! If you need more space (and water pressure!), there are hot showers available about a mile up the road at Zion Ponderosa Ranch. They cost a small amount to use, but we cover it for our guests. They also offer a variety of entertaining activities, including a very nice pool! You can also eat at the ranch at for a reasonable price. There is nowhere closer to the Cable Mountain/East Rim Trail-head than here! It is a short walk from the front door! If you are planning on hiking the full Narrows, this is on the way to the top! We are also very close the Englestead Canyon drop in rappel point and many other hikes and activities!
The whole property! There are a ton of great places to set up a hammock or chair and just relax, read a book, or take a nap all around. I like sitting by the fence-line and looking for deer or rams in the park. Always be on the look out for natural dangers like snakes! This is the wilderness not a city street!
We are available to help with any of your needs but do not live near the property.
Our cabin is completely furnished! Bedding is provided, as well as kitchen utensils, etc. The building is in a remote location and is rustic! We utilize a gravity fed water system that provides pressurized water to our faucets, toilet, and shower. This is a welcome luxury after a long day exploring, but means water pressure to the shower can be low at times. There are huge, high pressure shower rooms available 1 mile up the road you can use for a small fee (I pay for you). It is also important to note that access to the cabin and our water system are dependent on weather. This means if the weather turns cold and there is a freeze, water may have to be packed in as our pipes and cistern will need to be winterized. We have several 5 gallon water containers for use at the cabin. Also, if there is snow, the roads may be inaccessible for the last mile of the drive. We are willing to rent throughout the winter, but please keep in mind that you may have to snowmobile, snowshoe, or ski in the last mile from the parking lot of the Zion Ponderosa Ranch. I personally enjoy the adventure!
Have fun! All we ask is that our guests don't start forest fires or bring mud into the cabin. We also do not allow smoking or pets (some guests have allergies) in the cabin. If you must smoke, please be careful to dispose of any "butts" and be aware of any fire dangers. General common sense and respect for the property are appreciated.
