This is a small room but the private patio adds to the space. The patio has comfy seating and a chiminea for cool evenings. There is a hammock too!
Positano B&B is on an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with a pool and waterfall. There are many private areas to relax and read or be entertained by the desert wildlife. This bedroom has a double bed and french doors opening onto a wonderful flagstone patio with an upholstered bench for reading and a little chiminea fireplace for those chilly evenings. So romantic! The flowers and shrubs were especially chosen to attract butterflies. We've added a Thai hammock for each room.
The newly updated bathroom is down a short hallway and would be shared with the guest in Sweet! if that room is booked as well. We keep it sparkling clean and the shower is wonderful.
We live in a quiet residential neighborhood with meandering streets and gentle hills. It is a great place to walk or jog. A few blocks away you can jump on the Rillito River Park Trail which is a popular running/biking/skating/walking trail that crosses the entire city. We have a couple bikes here and we'd be happy to loan them to you.
Tucson National Golf Resort is about a mile away if you like golfing. Or eating.. the restaurant is nice too. Tucson is full of fabulous golf courses and hiking trails and all kinds of outdoor activities.
Foothills Mall is about a mile away for the fashionista in you. There are countless restaurants in the neighborhood as well. The I-10 freeway is conveniently close to us.
If you ask, I would be happy to email you a link listing all Tucson events for the time you are interested in visiting... there's always a lot going on in the Old Pueblo.
We are friendly and helpful but give our guests all the privacy that they want.
We're not big on rules and since our guests so far have been very considerate we haven't felt a need to lay down any rules. I have had people ask about using our kitchen and that is something that we would rather not do. So there you have it:
Rule #1: no kitchen privileges.
However, we are happy to clear some refrigerator space for a few items that you might need to bring.
Rule #2: Okay, one more. No smoking in the house.
I am retired (yippee!) American Airlines. My husband JR and I love having guests in our home. JR plays guitar for fun and created beautiful landscapes for a living until he, too, retired.
We have been hosting with Airbnb since 2011. Joe Gebbia, one of the founders of Airbnb, came through Tucson that year and stayed with us. He left us a glowing review and we've been collecting them ever since. This is FUN!
Travel is in our blood. We have been on some great trips and especially love Mexico, Guatemala, Spain and France. We have family in Madison, WI and love to visit there too. There are so many places yet to experience and our bucket list is long. We have done some house swaps and that is a great way to experience life in another culture, especially when that swap takes us away from Tucson in the summer.
We can't travel all the time, so lucky for us that we live in one of the most beautiful places on earth...the Sonoran desert. We both love to immerse ourselves in creative projects here at home and so our surroundings have become this endless Home Improvement Project. We figured out a long time ago that we like the process more than the end result, and we'll never ever run out of ideas.
There is usually music around this house. JR is often working on a blues song or jazzy instrumental and he loves an audience. Even better he loves to jam with anyone who will join him.
A few years ago we fell in love with a spot on the Sea of Cortez in Mexico's Baja Peninsula. This has become our most recent and most thrilling project. JR is building us a casita there and we hope to share it with Airbnb guests as well as friends and family in the foreseeable future.
Here at home, Tucson has fabulous hiking trails so we hike em. There are wonderful yoga studios so I vinyasa in em. Biking trails abound and we like to do that too.
Our dog Kitty and puppy Poncho get along well with people. They may bark when you first arrive but they are all bark, no bite.
So, there. Now you have a little info about us. Come on down!
