Welcome to our original mill house, located on the edge of the small timber town of Dwellingup, in the Heritage Precinct. The mill house has been renovated and comfortably furnished to provide cosy, welcoming self-contained accommodation for up to 6 people. The extensive gardens surrounding the cottage are glorious, and filled with birds. The north-facing verandah offers an ideal place to enjoy the birdlife or relax with a drink as the sun disappears behind the trees.
Dwellingup Mill House is set on a large (approximately 2000 square metres), peaceful, attractive corner block, with well-maintained beautiful gardens. The cottage is an original mill house, built early in the 20th century. It is located on the edge of town, overlooking State Forest, yet an easy walk from the centre of Dwellingup.
The mill house is wonderful in any season: in winter, after an invigorating walk in the jarrah forest, relax in front of a wood fire with a glass of wine, while a fragrant stew bubbles on the stove; in summer, enjoy a cool drink on the front verandah overlooking the bush, after a day spent exploring the nearby Murray River in Lane Poole Reserve; spring and autumn offer wonderful weather to explore the bush, discover wildflowers, including many varieties of orchids, and relax in the bird-filled garden.
You can remain comfortable in the mill house, no matter the weather. There is a wood-burning fireplace with a glass door, as well as reverse cycle air-conditioning/heating. Also portable heaters and fans are provided, according to the season.
Guests have the house and gardens for their sole use during their stay. Unless by prior arrangement, there is no access to the laundry.
