Independent room in central but quiet and safe location
30-days minimum stay, single occupancy only
Quiet and peaceful smallish (9x13) room in quiet, safe neighborhood, transit riders' paradise, 30-day minimum stay
The Room is light and pretty with its own access to outside and its own small refrigerator and microwave. Closet has build-in drawers. Adjacent shared bathroom is dedicated but not exclusive to the room (meaning that you are the primary user, but others use it too without restrictions).
Several guests have mentioned the sometimes-weak wi-fi. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do about it. I know our guests have streamed TV shows and vpn'ed. But if you require a very strong signal all the time, this might not be the place for you.
Bedroom, shared bathroom, laundry, and backyard (no kitchen access)
We tend to be pretty quiet and keep to ourselves. However, as a native San Franciscan, I am happy to provide suggestions for what to see and where to go or eat.
We have chickens in the backyard. They should only delight unless you have an issue with chickens. Also note that we have let our lawn go because of California's drought this year.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Lately I've been getting the a lot of the same questions. Since I answer each email individually, perhaps I can address all these at once.
Kitchen: The rental does not include access to a full kitchen. I provide a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker.
Long-term rentals: All our rentals are long term, and the prices already reflect that. No additional discounts are available.
Going away: I also cannot offer a discount if you go away on the weekends as you would still be occupying in the room, and I would not be able to do anything else with it during that time.
Occupancy: The room is single occupancy. With advance notice, I will consider allowing additional visitors (such as a visiting spouse) for a night or two if you are staying longer term (2+ months).
Commuting travel times: Send me your work location, and I am happy to help with trip planning or advise you if our neighborhood makes sense for you.
Late hours: See our Quiet Hours -- we don't mind what time you get home as long as you don't wake us up.
You will be staying with a small family; so Quiet Hours begin at 8 pm which means whispering, using headphones, and walking softly. You may occasionally hear the child resisting bedtime at night.
Like all airbnb listings, the most important "rule" is communication. For example, just let us know if you need anything or if anything is missing that you expected the room to include. We have many items (extra mugs? iron and ironing board? etc.) that are available upon request. Also, we have professional house cleaners; so if anything is not to your liking, let me know ASAP so I may address the issue with them and have it corrected.
No pets or smoking allowed onsite.
We use the City of San Francisco's garbage collection system, which means separating trash into compost, recycling and land fill. If this sounds too complication: no problem just let me know, and I can help.
After you book the room but week or so before you arrive, we'll figure out the best way to get you the key/check you in. I can arrange my work schedule to accommodate you. If your plans change by more than 4 hours within 72 hours of your arrival, and I am obligated to engage a 3rd party to get you the key, an additional fee applies.
