I live in a modern house in a vertical loft-style. It is open, light and spacious. I try to give my house a warm and personal touch. Still working hard on it, since I only recently moved in... Work in progress!
I have a few rooms I rent to visitors. You can either rent a single room (with double bed, see my other ad) and private terrace or you can rent the entire top floor (two separate rooms, one with double bed, one with two single beds). So I am flexible as regards to how many people are staying at the same time. I have a full time job and a lot of evening activities... so you will find that you have the house most of the time to yourself. I love Gent and I know the city well, so I will be very happy to answer any of your questions!
My house is your house, so you have access to all the spaces of my house. I am not often at home so you will find that most of the time, you will have the entire house to yourself. I have a small terrace/garden and some bikes you could use if you want to (or where you can safely put your bike if you are traveling by bike) There is a rooftop terrace for your private use (adjacent to your room). You can use my washing machine, dryer for your laundry, if necessary.
I love traveling and I am open to new experiences, cultures and impressions. So please, ask me anything to make your stay perfect. I expect no less from my hosts when I am staying abroad. This is what makes the airbnb-experience unique!
I live close to the city centre. It is just an 15 minute walk to the medieval city centre, which is a lovely, quiet stroll along one of the canals trough Gent. There are plenty of bus stops in a range of 500 metres, that will take you everywhere in Gent. I have a few bikes that you can use, if you want to.
Bring in your luggage when you want on your check in day. Your room may not be ready, but we store your luggage until it is. On your check out day, feel free to leave your luggage in our house until you have to catch your train or depart otherwise.
It is an open house which is charming, but with the risk of 'sound traveling through the house' when you move around, waking sleepers ... Please respect the house peace between midnight and 8 a.m.
We are concerned with the environment. Please respect this spirit when you come. The shower is for washing, not for relaxation (this is: do not waste water). Do not put fresh fruits or wet glasses on the wooden furniture. Please turn of the lights in your room and in other rooms when you leave.
