Our spacious, four bedroom cabin is situated on the SE corner of the lake. We are only a few steps from the waters' edge and have great views of State Beach from two outdoor living areas. Our family and pet-friendly retreat is perfect for 2-8 guests.
Along the south shore, the lakeside terrain varies wildly. We are fortunate to be just a few steps from the water. The cozy upper level with two bedrooms and an open kitchen/living area adjoins a deck overlooking the shore...a beautiful view no matter what time of year. The lower, walk-out level has a cozy bedroom with a full size bed. The master bedroom in the basement is still under construction but is by far the best room in the house! It has a king bed, 43" TV and gorgeous white-washed tongue & groove ceiling for a nautical look. There is a picture window looking directly out to the lake. There is a bathroom with a shower and a washer and dryer. Just outside the lower level is a cozy patio with an outdoor sectional and makes for a lovely place to nap or enjoy the evening.
Seasonal access to 2 kayaks, pool floaties, assortment of life jackets and fishing poles, 100' wooden dock. No use of boats. Visiting boats may tie up to the dock for short stays if the weather and lake conditions are favorable. Do not leave boat or personal water crafts tied to the dock overnight or during windy or rough conditions as the stress will damage the dock.
You can plan to relax in solitude! You will be given a key box code to access a key. We are available by phone to answer any questions.
This is a multi-generation family cabin and not an income property. The cabin is our summer home. It is comfortable and well lived in. Please enjoy your stay while being respectful of neighbors who live on or near the lake year-round.
My husband Jeff and I are from Urbandale, Iowa, a NW suburb of our capital city, Des Moines. Jeff is a computer programmer and I am a landscape architect. Our travel routine typically consists of visiting the Naylor family cabin on Clear Lake in northern Iowa on most summer weekends.
Jeff and I have a 3 year-old daughter named Lainey. We are amazed everyday at how entertaining she can be. Our idea of a wild and crazy Saturday night is making it to the start of Saturday Night Live.
Jeff and I love to cook, enjoy fine wine, craft beers, sushi and "foodie" food. We aren't the most aggressive at site-seeing. We tend to keep our travels at a relaxed pace and don't cram in too much. Our travels are typically for a purpose such as a wedding, destination concert or some other event.
Our family cabin gives us a true understanding of what it means to be a guest and how important it is to be conscientious and courteous. We rent and loan the cabin quite often and have plenty of "how rude" and "oh, that was thoughtful" experiences to ensure that we would make great guests and hosts.
We definitely rely on reviews when shopping for products and continue to be impressed with the reviews on Airbnb. We understand the importance of leaving honest feedback.
