The EcoPod is an innovate geodesic dome elevated from the ground and made from our harvested bamboo. It's joints are made from recycled plastic. It is a warm, cozy and welcoming environment far enough away from the lodge to give you the privacy you may desire, but not too far so that you may use the communal facilities there. The semi-double bed is comfortable and elevated from the lower level to make better use of the space, giving you excellent room to keep bags or even to sit down and relax.
It is the first stage of construction of an innovative geodesic dome village, in the middle of a cloud forest jungle, accessible by foot only, a few meters away from a canyon with lush vegetation. The space has been designed to share facilities with the people living in the reserve in order to exchange life experiences.
Guests have access to 4km of trails, leading towards the river, the indigenous bamboo bush, a creek with small waterfalls, the old forest and the remains of an old coffee farm. Kitchen, library, terraces can be used by everyone. Breakfast, towels, TV, WiFi, hot water and earth soap are included in the price. You can reserve your meal at a reasonable price. Laundry service too is provided at a low cost.
Guests can join any of the activities of conservation and maintenance of the Natural Reserve or construction of the domes. They can also join any of the guided tours explaining how this special kind of jungle functions.
Remember that this is a Lodge within a jungle and not a hostel facility. No smoking, pets or chemical products are allowed. We provide a natural soap friendly with our water treatment system. It has been designed to share experiences and different ways of living rather than to give you only a facility to sleep and eat in. The environment is not suitable for children under the age of 3. Coordinate time of arrival in advance (gates may be closed). Luggage can be transported to the lodge by our personnel. Considering that the distance from town is 2.6km, if you want to use the kitchen facilities you need to think about bringing your supplies.
No smoking, pets or chemical products are allowed. We provide a natural soap friendly with our water treatment system.
Hi guys! My name is Nicholas and I currently live in this beautiful nature reserve in Salento, Colombia. Like many others travelling, I decided to give up my "normal" life and travel around, looking to discover what I really wanted to do...my dreams. Carlos, my best mate and I shared an Idea about living in a jungle and co-existing with it, and so everything we have been doing over the past ten years or so has been to arrive to this point, which is sharing this dream for others to enjoy too.
