Eu recomendo!
This is a perfectly located place for a Paris vacation. A lovely, safe neighborhood, Saint Germain de Pres is within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre Dame, Saint Sulpice, the Cluny Museum, Jardin Luxembourg, Saint Chappelle, boatrides along the Seine, the Tuilleries, great boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The RER and Metro are nearby, and there are Viber bikes you can rent throughout the neighborhood. The flat itself is fine for three--I was there with my two teenagers, who each had a mattress on the floor, and I had the futon. It was cosy but fine, and there was room for our suitcases on the floor. Besides that, there is not a lot of space but when in Paris, having a clean, bright, airy and safe flat in a great location at a good price is wonderful. This place is on the 5th floor of an old, lovely building, with a central courtyard, so there are several locked doors that give you a good sense of security. Also, with huge windows that open wide, on warm summer nights the soft breezes up that high--which flow through the apartment, from both sides--are exquisite. I don't know if it was just being in Paris, or the time of year (July) or the flat being up so high, but I have never experienced such soft, beautiful breezes and it made our stay al the more magical. The flat is also wonderful in a practical sense. The small kitchen area allows you to save some money by having breakfasts in, before heading out for the day. The washer makes it possible to not have to pack heavy suitcases, and the great location allows you to stop in for an afternoon siesta if needed, to get some energy for an evening out. For simple, clean, light, airy, sufficiently appointed, ideally located and affordable Paris lodgings, Romain's place is perfect.
The flat is in a perfect location for exploring Paris. It is small (but not too small - we comfortably had 3 people staying, and let's be honest, you're not in Paris to spend time in your accommodation anyway). It may have been a bad time for the hosts, as whilst communication was really good and prompt, the introduction was rushed, was an hour or so late, (not to mention being done by someone other than the host, who wasn't in the country), plus we had to rummage in cupboards to find towels (hoping they were clean!), and there were a few problems with plumbing. We were warned that there had been issues with plumbing in the week before our stay, but were told that this would be sorted before we arrived. There had clearly been issues with leaking / damp for a long time, as a lot of the ceiling paint was peeling. The shower has plenty of hot water, but there is no cradle for the shower head, so you have to hold the shower head with one hand and scrub/soap with the other. With a few minor touch-ups, this flat would be a really great place to stay. It was fine for us, as we literally only slept and showered there, but I wouldn't want to be couped up inside for too long.
