We are hosting travelers for the fun of meeting new people. We also value the opportunity to expose our children to lots of interesting people from a variety of backgrounds. Our family gets moving (and noisy) at 7every morning. We have a large and loving dog. If it sounds fun to you, come be our friend! LGBTQ friendly home. Children welcome!
Our home was originally built in 1917 as a miner's cottage. It was completely renovated in 2014, in keeping with the original style, with its original doors and built-ins left intact. The house is solidly built and has many windows, offering cozy warmth in cold months and cool cross breezes during the summer. We keep it very clean, and hope you will feel comfortable relaxing here.
We give our guests a private bedroom and a private bathroom on the main floor of our house, with lots of shelving and closet space. Wireless internet and free street parking are always available. Feel free to use our pots, pans, utensils, etc. for cooking, and to hang out in the shared living space (living room, kitchen, dining room, porch, yard). We are not always cooking, but when we are, our guests are welcome to eat with us. Help yourself to cereal and milk in the morning. We have a detached garage for secure storage of bikes, etc. If you are traveling with children, we can put a pack-n-play or sleeping bag in your room, or figure out another area of the house for them to sleep in. The house is not wheelchair accessible. If there are other accommodations we can make that would be helpful, please let us know and we will do our best.
Guests may come and go as they like. Hang out with us and our kids, or spend time on your own, in any combination that is most comfortable for you.
Our little kids make loud little kid noises. They sleep through the night well, so they are usually quiet by 9pm, and start up again around 7am.
