Maple grove is a 100yr old villa style homestead set on 3 acres of tranquil gardens. The house has been totally refurbished whilst retaining all the exposed rimu windows and doors.

We can arrange for you to be picked up from town if travelling by bus or flying in. and can provide a sober driver if you are in the area for a party, wedding etc.
Free internet access and cheap toll calls are available to most overseas destinations.
We have all the amenities and are close to tramping, mountain bike trails fishing, golf ,tennis and the ever popular function venue Oruawharo Homested. An extensive library of books game and music is here for your entertainment.Tuis, Wood pigeons, Magpies, Moreporks, Fantails and more love the tall and small trees and shrubs.
Dahlias, Tulips, Lillies, Amarillas, Foxgloves, Paeonies, , Rhodedenrons, Delphiniums appear as the seasons change.
Guests are encouraged to explore the home and grounds with the only out of bounds area being the office and hosts bedroom.

Paul and Anne Hanlon purchased the run down farmhouse and gardens in late winter 2010 with the intention of creating comfortable accommodation with ambience where people can stay without the formality of a hotel or the impersonal feel of a motel. We aim to make your stay a memorable experience ask and we will do what it takes.
The renovations included installing a new kitchen, 2 new bathrooms new wood burners and heat pumps for summer and winter comfort plus redecorating and carpeting throughout. Much of the outdoor work has been done by the woofers we host (see the blog for more details about woofers) who are all surprised by the history of Takapau
The Gardens are a work in progress however the back of this project has been broken with a massive pruning completed annual pruning will now be easy. We intend to build a petanque patch and add other fun things to do as you meander around the garden.
Tuis, fantails and wood pigeons nest in the grounds along with other species.
