The property comprises of two separate bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom. The rooms have been nicely done and essentially are bed rooms. The entry to both the rooms is on a street/lane used by the residents, residing in that street/lane. It would be more appropriate to have the address as Quinton Road, Police Bazaar, Shillong as otherwise one gets a very different impression about the locality. The property no way qualifies to be advertised as 'Apartment" and/or 'Entire Home/Apartment'. Each room has a door on the rear as well and to use both the rooms as one unit, these doors have to be kept open. I did not feel secure in doing so because of a service door on the rear. This service door can't be shut from inside as it does not have a latch/lock.
I did not get to interact with my host at all. I saw him once on the day of my arrival. He did arrange to send one of his guys called JP to the Police Bazaar, who guided us to the apartment and ushered us in. Then comes the host to explain the complimentary breakfast, the food that one can buy from him and the vehicle that one can hire from him. He did call his son to fix the TV. That was it. I called him in the morning on 31st December. He did not answer the call and did not respond thereafter. Bahadur,( one of the host's guys) served the breakfast. I really am impressed with him. Decent, warm and courteous. Thanks Bahadur.
I don't think I will ever stay in such a property while travelling with my family.
