Quirky 2 story, 1 bdrm apt. in newly renovated 1930's building. Downstairs bedroom w/comfy queen bed. The living room, kitchen & bath are upstairs. Central A/C, WiFi. 1 block to Hays St bridge. 1 mi to the Alamo, 0.8 mi to the Riverwalk!
We call this apartment "Hideout" for its quirky, tucked away feeling. The downstairs bedroom has a super comfy queen bed and a "welcome to Texas" vibe. The rest of the apartment is upstairs. Relax on the comfortable sofa in the living room. The kitchen has a stove with oven, full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pans, utensils, dishes, coffees and teas. The bathroom has a glass vessel sink and a glass shower with shampoo and body wash. We've had fun decorating the Hideout with original paintings and fine art photography. The wifi is excellent. The Hideout has its own small patio right outside the entrance for your use, if you wish.
Free on street parking just steps from the Hideout door. For those who choose not to walk or drive the mile into the center of downtown, taxi rides are $10. each way and Uber rides are about $5.
We are two long blocks from the railroad tracks, so we call our place Whistle Stop Corner to honor the significance of the trains in the era our place was built. We love the romantic sound of the trains at night.

We live right next door and are generally on site if needed to offer ideas of restaurants and activities in the area. We love San Antonio and are delighted to introduce our hometown to others.
We're both artists and love San Antonio. We enjoy bicycling, movies, traveling, making art, teaching art, meeting artists and other friendly people.
We have remodeled a turn of the century grocery store building into a private art studio/workshop space. In other two buildings on our property we have 3 AirBnB spaces:
-The "Retrotech Apt"
Both are next door to us, so we're available for assistance if our guests need us.
