Our place is large, has a garden, and is 8 minutes walk to the beach (Clovelly or Coogee.) It's a house size apartment above our art studio/shop where Lisa teaches kids art. (We're located in a little shopping strip with great eateries.) Families seem to like our place!
My wife & I have done a simple renovation on an old 1920's building. It's light filled, has high ceilings and wooden floors. It's located in a little neighbourhood shopping strip just up from the beach. The apartment is above our studio/shop where we run art classes for kids.
From the street you don't realise the size of the place. (It's more like a house than an apartment.) And the fact there's a garden out the back.
There's plenty of room for 4 people. Check out the photos to get a better idea of the house. (You'll see we like to keep our place uncluttered and simple.)
You have your own (free) wifi network.
Included in the house is:
Queen size bed - in the main bedroom
Two single beds - in the second bedroom (can be made into double)
Sofabed - in the lounge room
Sheets, bath towels and beach towels
Free wireless internet (wifi)
Goggles for swimming and snorkelling at Clovelly
Kids stuff - toys, lego, games, books, dvd's, high chair, stroller
An extensive range of interesting dvd's, books, magazines and music
Large screen TV and dvd player
Two stereo sound systems (with ipod connections)
Dishwasher, washing machine and microwave
Fans (for the few weeks of hot weather in Summer)
Heaters (for the few weeks of cold weather in Winter)
Bathroom - with bath and shower
Garden and outdoor dining area
Plenty of space for family living and entertaining.
The entire place is available for your private use and you have your own entrance. Most times we'll be there to greet you on arrival, but after that we'll leave you to do your own thing.
If you need anything though, we're very happy to help. You're welcome to either call, text, email, message us via AirBnB, or come and see us. (We have an apartment that's closeby but very separate.)
PRICING AT PEAK TIME:
The cost of our place is a little more in peak holiday time here in Australia: our Summer - especially around Christmas and January.
PRICING FOR LONGER STAYS:
We provide a discount for longer stays. You'll find our discounted monthly cost in the 'Price' section. Also, when you put in your check-in and check-out dates, AirBnB will take into account our reduced monthly price in its calculation of the total cost. If you're staying 4 months or more, please get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
VALUE FOR MONEY:
We try to keep our price competitive and good value compared with other stays around us. You probably won't find another place as big as ours for the price in this part of Sydney (in the East and near the beach.) If you do let us know! Mostly you'll get a small apartment for the price we charge. Plus we throw in lots of added extras - like great movies, kids toys and the best local guide you'll find.
Sometimes we get booked up! If you click into the Check-In date it'll bring up our booking calendar. The dates in grey show when we're already booked. Other dates are free. (Use the arrows to scroll to other months.)
STAIRS AND ACCESS TO THE HOUSE:
We have an entrance at the front and rear of the house. The front has one flight of stairs. The rear has flat access via a laneway. (If you're wheeling a pram or baby stroller it can be easier to go in and out via the rear laneway.) You can also drive a car into our backyard via the laneway.
The house is above our shop in a shopping village. The front bedroom faces the street (Clovelly Road.) So you can hear cars going past and some street noise. By Sydney standards, it's not too bad. Clovelly is also generally quieter than our beach cousins Coogee and Bondi. Going further back in the house, the kids' bedroom is quieter than the front. And in the rest of the place (lounge, kitchen and garden) you probably won't be aware of the road or the village. The traffic tends to die down at night and the shops in the village close by 9.30pm. So it's really not bad for sleeping. Lisa and I are both very noise sensitive, but we don't find the noise a problem. We've also had about 80 families stay with us and the vast majority haven't had a problem with street noise. However, we do want to flag this aspect of our place so you know.
Thanks for reading this far! If there's anything else you need to know you're welcome to contact us.

Good luck with your travels!
Cheers, Phil and Lisa
ps. Check out what our guests have been saying about us in the Reviews.
EARLY CHECK-IN IS OK:
If you're coming in from overseas and land early, yes, we should be able to accommodate an early check-in. If we're still finishing cleaning the house when you arrive you could leave your bags at our place and go for a short walk to the beach or breakfast at a nearby cafe. (Most times we're ready to go though.)
Here are some other things once you've settled in ...
Make sure you explore the coastal walk. And go for a swim at Wylie's Baths in Coogee. It's better than all the usual touristy stuff to do in Sydney. Try out the local food places. Say hi to Frank at Pizzavelly (the local Italian), Nick at Sushi Kun (the local Japanese), and Wichet at Pinto Thong (the local Thai restaurant.) Don't forget to check out our Guidebook. It has heaps of locals tips.
WATERING IN SUMMER:
If you're staying in Summer please water the garden every few days (including the plants down the side.)
HEATERS IN WINTER:
If you're staying in Winter please turn the heating off before you go to bed.
KIDS BEING KIDS:
We're ok and used to kids making noise ourselves. But lots of noise is tough on our neighbour who has been very kind and tolerant over the years. We suggest if your kids are having big tantrums, to take them for a walk to the beach. It'll calm them down and help us retain a good relationship with our neighbour.
Please leave the house tidy and clean and put things back where you found them when you arrived. Please also strip the beds and put the sheets and towels near the washing machine before you go. Thanks! You can leave the keys on the dining table. What else to do when you leave is in the House Manual here.
You're welcome to send me a message on AirBnB if you need to know anything.
