A very beautiful location and cottage. Clearly a lot of time, love and effort went into the restoration and it is a stunning building and perfect place to stay. Helen and her family were very welcoming and the perfect hosts, the house was extremely clean with all mod cons. We stayed for a fortnight with our 5 year old daughter and really enjoyed ourselves, we had a mix of activities, shopping and jaw dropping beautiful scenery on our doorstep. There is so much to see and do in under an hours drive in all direction. We took the ferry from Dublin and it was very easy to find the house and traveling about. We went to aqueducts, aquariums, several towns and cities including Wrexham, Llandudno, Chester and Liverpool, saw an open air plays in the park in Chester (Alice in Wonderland, it was excellent), went to Gullivers world, went zip lining, on mountain coasters, tree hoping, bounces on tree top nets in the Welsh countryside, went on boat rides, bike rides, swimming (several times), soft play areas, a Ferris wheel and Beatles tour in Liverpool, Chester zoo, Welsh mountain zoo, visited castles and took several walks in beautiful Welsh countryside, went on monorails and miniature trains and lots more. For older children, there is even more activities which they can participate in (the caverns and 'bounce below' looked amazing). We couldn't recommend Helen's cottage or the location highly enough. One regret was not renting or taking a barge over the aqueduct which was stunning. Excellent cottage, hosts and location. We will definitely be back!
