Experience Costa Rica off the beaten track! Relax and stay in a unique Roundhouse with amazing views of the beautiful and remote cloud forest of one of the highest mountains in Central America at this working farm with organic coffee and goat cheese production.
Be enchanted by the magical Cloud Bridge Nature Reserve, hike through the National Park Chirripo with its thick primary cloud and rainforest, discover the beauty of tropical plants and flowers at the Secret Gardens and the Orchid House
This is one cool space: unique, 24 ft. Yurt with a king-sized bamboo bed, natural lighting from the great dome skylight and your own wrap around deck overlooking parts of this organic farm and lots of green.
Great for bird watching or just enjoying nature.
Surprise your significant other - this is a wonderful retreat for Couples. Small families are also welcome and 2 kids up to 12 years stay for free.
Pamper yourself in the outdoor antique bathtub and bathroom or soak in the Himalayan inspired salt hot tub. The owners use the space as a healing space and you will have ample space for your yoga exercises, relaxation or meditation. There is a professional massage table, which you are welcome to use and keep in mind that a local based, professional massage therapist is only a phone call away.
For those with allergies, there is an Air purifier and Dehumidifier available.
Wifi is on site, but not as fast and reliable as in the city.
The Yurt is all yours! You are also welcome to explore the farm and its trails, perhaps even hike up to where the organic coffee is growing. The owner and your host, Evan is happy to share, but please do understand that it is a working farm and time is sometimes limited.
Please do treat the space with care and help us recycle.
Evan lives on site, but please understand that it is a fully functioning organic farm so Evan is up and about a lot.
I will be available remotely to coordinate anything that comes up. This applies to arrival, departure, things to do - just like I am doing for all the other properties that I am listing for my friends.
Staying longer? We would love to discuss the options with you.
You will find the area great and safe for daily walks up and down the many hills and trails. The pace is quite relaxed in San Gerado de Rivas and if you are looking for a small town feeling with friendly locals and no crime, here you get it.
If you would like to volunteer some of your time, the Cloud Bridge Private Nature Reserve might be just what you are looking for.
Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Please, no smoking inside. No drugs and no excessive drinking.
Love to read, enjoy the days as they come. Every now and then a stray comes along - some have stayed, while other cats and dogs have found new homes, so there is always some assortment of 4 legged friends around.
I have started to add a couple of additional and quite unique listings for very good friends of mine. I do vouch for each of my listings and know all properties and their locations well. I hope that staying at one or more of them makes your trip to Costa Rica simply amazing!
Check my wishlist for a unique Treehouse in the central San Jose Valley, a relaxing Yurt close to the Chirripo Mountain in the middle of Costa Rica or a romantic getaway in Tortuguero. All my listings are family and LBGT friendly.
Now that my son is grown up I have simplified my life and am spending more time travelling and enjoying the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer. I have teamed up with my friend Erika from Venezuela, who will be co-hosting my room in the city. I am online and will coordinate all the details. Erika speaks English and she and my dogs will welcome you just the same as if I would.
