Most guests love the location, the layout of the space, the furniture and the paintings, the backyard and the musical instruments. "Very quiet" is often commented by my guests and in that's a quality hard to find in NY.
This posting is for my guest bedroom.
Located in the beautiful and exclusive neighborhood of Vinegar Hill, this comfortable two bedroom ground floor apartment has a complete open kitchen, a bathroom and a half, washer-dryer, and backyard with outdoor furniture and a grill. The recently renovated apartment has radiant floor heating which can be regulated room by room and air conditioning (window units). Most of the furniture was custom designed and built in Brooklyn. There are musical instruments, cable TV, wi-fi and a laptop computer.
I regularly rent out the guest bedroom for one or two people. In my normal schedule, during the week I'm out of the house by 9 am and back most times after 10 pm so I'm practically never in the house. I also work Saturdays and some Sundays so now you understand why I want to sublet the guest room.
The guest bedroom has a full size bed, double closet and a dresser. It is very comfortable for one person, a bit tight for two but most people that travel for a week or less are not carrying that much stuff anyway.
The apartment has a full bathroom and another bathroom without a shower.
The neighborhood is pretty quiet although there is a fantastic restaurant next door. Check them out, it's the Vinegar Hill House. They have amazing food. Three blocks from the house is the neighborhood of DUMBO and there are grocery stores, restaurants, dry clean, etc.
The subway is 4 blocks away. The station is York Street on the F train. Three blocks further down is the A train.
Dumbo (which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is the closest neighborhood to Manhattan. The Brooklyn bridge starts right there and it's a very nice half an hour walk to cross the bridge to the city.
Fully equipped kitchen, ironing board, coffee machine, dishwasher, WiFi and cable TV that I'm about to cancel because nobody watches anyway.
I leave early in the morning and get back from work usually late at night so unfortunately I don't get to see much of my guests. Sundays I tend to spend more time at the apartment.
It's a quiet neighborhood and I start my day around 8 so after midnight I expect relative quietness.
If you do a lot of shopping you have to recycle all the paper and cardboard boxes. There is a special bin for that. There is also a bin to recycle bottles and cans.
No smoking inside the house please. In the back yard is OK.
