We're at the heart of the district "Les pentes de la Croix Rousse" (Croix-Rouse hill slopes), where silk workers, called here “canuts”, used to work and live. Just round the corner stands a roman amphitheatre : “ l’amphitheâtre des Trois Gaules", where territories delegates used to meet during the Roman period, and where Blandine is told to have been tortured. There are numerous small restaurants, « cafés musique », art galleries. We are very near the famous “traboules” : intricate lanes between houses used by the resistants during the second World War. Down the hill, you will see well-known frescoes-walls, “ les murs peints” de Lyon. You can easily reach the main places of the Lights festival (la “Fête des Lumières”) : we are within walking distance. The flat is second floor with lift. It's quiet and sunny. There are two rooms and a living room with American kitchen. Five large windows. Surface area 85 s.m. Height of ceilings 3m85. It's 8 minutes walk to Lyon Town-Hall.
Raymonde and Claude both work for theatre : they prefer books rather than the last electronic gadget. Therefore you’ll have plenty to read during your stay, in French and in English ! But don’t worry, you will have a complete kitchen equipment. In summer and spring, there are flowers on the window sills... In winter, just plants inside ! On your arrival, you’ll be offered home-made jam.
