Quiet, tree-lined street. Huge bathroom. Bright colors where you need them and warm soft tones in all the right rooms. Only a twenty to twenty-five minute walk at most to almost anything you want to see in the city.
Sunny room with a twin bed on the third floor in an old remodeled Philly home (must be ok with stairs). There's a simple shelf, shallow closet, and a portable air conditioner if you need it. We also have a nice twin airbed if you have a friend coming with you! Fluffy pillows and towels provided. There is a beautiful bathroom with a huge shower on the second floor. Bath is shared, but we have never had a problem as both roommates' schedules are all over the place. If you need it at a particular time we can be sure to help out! First floor has tv, kitchen, and couches to lounge on. You'll share the house with me (Sam), my roommate Kristen, and my Staffy/pit mix (dog) Maggie. Maggie is about 50 lbs and loves people and wiggling to greet you but sketchy about other dogs so we can't welcome your pooch unfortunately! I take her with me a lot and will make sure to be with her to make your acquaintance! I'm super happy to give advice about all the cool stuff I know about in this city. If you're staying in an airbnb partially to make your own food, I think I have almost every tool you could want in the kitchen. It's yours to have fun with.
Hardwood floors and bright colors characterize the space. Keypad lock and your own code ensures you won't have a key to worry about keeping track of!
This old house has been updated with fresh paint and amenities. Feel at home. Help yourself to spices and cooking supplies in the kitchen, many amenities in the bathroom, and Netflix, HBOGO, and Amazon Prime for relaxing in the living room.

new 50" flat screen TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime (and clear instructions on how to use everything)
No fan, but small dehumidifier helps if you need it
Iron and mini ironing board
Washer and dryer with detergent in basement.
There's a small comfortable space in back to sit in the sun when it's nice!
Summer in Philly is awesome. We're two blocks away from the best ice cream and water ice place in South Philly - John's Water Ice. And if you're doing the cheesesteak thing, Jim's on South is 4 blocks east, Pat's and Geno's just a few blocks south in the Italian Market.
I have my own business and teach and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu most of the rest of the day but both are just a few blocks from home. My friendly roommate is in and out depending on her work schedule. I'm happy to recommend whatever you'd like in the area or schedule you in for some of the activities I do all day!
I will be happy to help with anything you need that I can. I love this city and my neighborhood especially and am happy to give recommendations. I will have some maps and brochures for you to check out. Also the website uwishunu is awesome for planning.
Women only please, thank you. Must be cool with dogs. Long-term rental possible.
My brother is vegan (I am not) and thanks to him I've visited some of the best vegan spots in the city so let me know if you'd like recommendations! (Hint - Charlie Was A Sinner is on par w Vedge IMO and easier to get a table)
No smoking in the house, please.
Not a hard and fast rule but prefer no shoes past the entryway.
Checkout is at noon but feel free to leave your stuff for a bit if you're planning on touring the city more.
Check-in is more flexible depending on if there is somebody checking out the same day.
Other than that please be respectful of the property but have fun during your stay!
I've lived in Philadelphia for about 4 years now, and of the neighborhoods I've been in this one takes the cake for charm and safety/comfort.
Most of my days are full up with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and movement therapy (@movewellphilly on Instagram if you want to see what I'm up to). I teach kids and adults about self defense and sport martial arts training, compete internationally, and work to keep people healthy.
I travel as often as I can and have used airbnb a bunch from a casual shared space in California to a teepee in Utah to a gorgeous cave house in Turkey, so I love to give people the amenities I look for on the road (SOFT FLUFFY TOWELS and LOTS OF PILLOWS) the best I can.
I love Philadelphia because I can walk or bike to anything that I want or need in a city. The food is so widely varied and awesome. Some of my faves are Asian noodle soups, pizza, and a great burger but I love just about everything with good flavor! My brother is vegan so thanks to his visits I've been to some of the best vegan spots in the city. There is still a soul here thanks to all the garden boxes and trees that line the streets.
I'm happy to talk if we meet up but am just as happy leaving you to it! Respect is mutual.
