A great experience. The flat was well appointed and well kept. Everything was clean and orderly when we arrived. The neighborhood is great, two of our landmarks for directions were a Ferrari and a Lamborghini dealership, that kind of tells you about the neighborhood. Within two blocks there was a great butcher, a coffee shop, a corner store, a pub and multiple restaurants. Of note is that the unit is a basement apartment, not ideal for anyone that has trouble with stairs. There are 1.5 bathrooms, but strangely the second bath shares a wall with the full bath, it was still helpful with two kids to have the second bath. Transit was easy, there is a bus stop two blocks away and three tube lines that are about a 10 minute walk. We paid for a black taxi to and from Heathrow, it was 51 and 55 pounds respectively. This was much easier and less expensive than going anywhere near Paddington. The tube will take you close, but would be a nightmare with baggage especially during the day during the week. Pros: Really nice neighborhood Very quiet street The private park out back was perfect for our kids to run around Kitchen had everything you need including some seasonings and cooking oil Quick help from Alex (water heater stopped working and he and a technician had it fixed in less than 6 hours from when we called him) Little amenities were there, i.e. voltage converter, phone charger, book on travel with kids, etc. It felt large and bright for being a basement flat Outdoor table was nice for breakfast in the mornings Cons: Smaller bedroom was loud in the morning when people leave for work (it's directly under the main building entrance and the door slams above you) There was 1.5 rolls of toilet paper (we booked for a week with 4 people) No shampoo In fairness Alex thought there was more TP and we didn't mention the shampoo, we just went out and bought them at the corner store. We would happily book with Alex again.
We just spent four days at this beautiful flat and had the best stay. The living area is comfortable and has plenty of seating with a sectional sofa and two upholstered chairs. The kitchen is cozy and functional. Although this is a basement flat, there is plenty of lighting and the space is well utilized and decorated. There is a nice, outdoor patio/seating area with access to a private park. The beds are very comfortable. The flat is ideally located, within walking distance to the tube. The Gloucester Rd tube is a 5 to 7 minute walk and there are plenty of shops and places nearby to grab coffee/tea or a bite to eat. Overall, we highly recommend this place!
This flat is in the best location for access to restaurants, public transport and just taking in the beauty of the back garden and general surrounds. The flat is decorated with flare and great taste.. There's a very well equipped kitchen.. Alex responded immediately to any problem and moved heaven and earth to resolve it to our satisfaction. The flat added to our Very positive London experience.
The host and his assitant were professional, polite, and responsive. The flat is as pictured and described. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is great. I would note, the bedrooms face the street and there was some normal street noise that woke us up a couple of mornings. Overall, it is a nice flat with a lovely patio.
This is a lovely unit in a very convenient location. There are many lively restaurants in the area, but the unit itself is on a quiet street. The listing is quite accurate, except that the internet access isn't reliable.
Everything about this listing was accurate and reliable. Communication with the owner was quick and helpful. We had all the needed information and much more helpful info was provided, such as airport transportation information. Easy check-in and check-out. The location was wonderful because it was close to many restaurants, and it was a very safe, quiet residential neighborhood type of walk to the tube, with a gorgeous private park behind the flat. I felt this was a wonderful feature that not many flats would have. We loved it!
We had a great stay at the appartement: the location was very convenient for us, a few minutes away from South Ken with nice shops, restaurants and a pub around the corner, and the bus stop a few meters away. The appartement is quiet, no noise from the street and we liked the living room and dining room with a large window looking at the garden. Although the appartement is at basement level, there is plenty of light in the living space and the kitchen. We felt at home and had a great time, I recommend the place.
Having worked in the property market in Italy and Britain for over 25 years, I have managed to build a portfolio of villas in Tuscany and apartments in London and Rome which I personally manage and part own. I actually stay in each of my properties on a rotation basis in order …
