This listing is for Cottage #3 - A three bedroom cottage with screen porch at rear. Has double bed in one bedroom, two twin beds in the second and bunk beds in third. Accommodates six people maximum. Total size is 844 sq ft. including 94 sq ft porch. Minimum stay: 5 nights but weekly Fri-Fri is the standard rental.
Stay once...you'll want to return for decades as some of our customers have done before! Here are the reasons why:
The cottages are located on a quiet street in a well maintained natural scrub pine and oak setting of about 2 acres with less than 5 min walk to two town beaches...
They are generously spaced for privacy with average of 50 feet between units and average 30 feet from driveway...
Units are very spacious compared to other colonies in the area...about 550 sq ft (approx 28' x 20') for two bedroom unit not including the screened porches averaging 90 sq ft...
The cottages are unique in the style and quality of construction...based on Swedish "Stuga" style and design... My father (who built them) was a professional cabinet maker so woodworking details are superb...
They are furnished in the style of the 1950-60's but many units have had some/all new bedding and/or refrigerators and/or carpets installed since 2002...
They are kept in very clean condition...thanks to the non-smoking tenants who respect the work of my parents and which is part of reason for the low rates...and I attempt to completely check all aspects at turnover time...
But most of all, due to unique pricing structure, it's very affordable! Not like other high-priced low-quality ones! My mother believed in making it possible for everyone to enjoy a vacation, and I am trying to continue the tradition.
Unit is priced based on TWO people with additional adults/children at a low ($6 or less) daily rate. This allows a couple to rent a larger unit, have guests for a night or two, and yet keep costs to a minimum.
Discounts are given for additional weeks, varying from $5-$25 depending on unit and week number. Since a changeover is skipped, you get a break on rate!
Other important details:
All rentals are from Friday at 4:30 p.m. to Friday at 10:30 a.m.
To keep cottages and grounds in better shape: NO pets and NO smoking!
These cottages are from the 1950's so there are NO telephones, TV, or microwaves...you won't miss them!
Things to know:
There are no TV's, and no cable available but you can bring one to watch DVD's.
You bring your own linens (sheets, towels, etc)...Blankets and pillows are provided...but many folks bring their favorite pillow.
All cottages have gas wall heaters for those cool nights...
Since these units do NOT have A/C, bring a fan if you think the breeze won't be enough to stay cool.
Kitchens have gas stoves, refrigerators, cookware, dishes and utensils so just bring the food and drink!
Access to owner's phone is available to make emergency/calling card/local calls if your cell phone fails or you don't have one.
Owner's high-speed Net may be accessed via wi-fi upon request.
All units have vacuums, broom, mops, brushes, etc...If you MUST have "brand-X cleaner", bring or buy it.
If you want to place to relax, stay here...If you want a place to party wildly, please look elsewhere, ok?
My summer residence is the larger portion of the duplex cottage shared with the Apartment unit so I'm on-premises most all the time to assist with any problems/questions/etc. so don't hesitate to ask me if you need anything or desire golf cart rides for your children!

VERY IMPORTANT: As is standard for most Cape Cod weekly rentals: YOU bring your own linens (sheets, towels, etc)...Bedspreads, blankets and pillows are provided...but many folks bring their favorite pillow.
Also, this is not a resort so NO food or beverages are supplied. There is a 12+- CF refrigerator in kitchen so there's room for your items.

I spend the winter in FL and summer here on premises on Cape Cod.
I'm a "retired" mainframe COBOL programmer/analyst who's highly involved in Town of Chatham by running the "Chat-M-Room on Cape Cod" dedicated to its activities and history and attending town government meetings.
So...what makes my cottages unique? It's run by a second-generation owner who has been involved with them for all his life...also, they are inspected and licensed by Town of Chatham so you have that assurance as well but without the high costs typical of other rentals in town because I believe that regular folks should be able to vacation here in Chatham and not just those with lots of money!
You're not just a customer here, but rather a acquaintance or friend who's visiting and helping with expenses so I thus also expect you to treat my cottages as you would if you were staying at your best friend's home.
NOTICE: In a typical season, I only have openings for about 6-8 new customers as I have about a 90% repeat rate and most of those openings are before mid-July or after mid-August. But please contact me to see if I've got room for YOU, ok? Until all the prior customers are scheduled/booked OFF-line, the calendars here will remain as fully unbooked because I just don't have time to constantly update them.
RESERVATIONS: Please do NOT create an actual booking request until we've found the right unit/date for you via Inquiry messages to avoid issues for both of us!
VERIFICATION: Your profile MUST include a photo of yourself (and others who will be guests optionally) and verified phone number before I would consider your reservation to make sure no issues exist for either party.
STATUS: As of 03/09/15, new rates/fees for the 2016 season were set for units and reflect a very minor increase due to cost changes since 2015. Scheduling of my existing customers has begun so new clients can be handled by mid-March hopefully. All rentals are made on a seniority basis and there are a large nbr of repeat customers so please be patient, ok? And I thus understand if you want to book elsewhere to guarantee something sooner than I can know what may be "leftover" for you..
RATES: A quirk of this site is that pro-rated portion of cleaning fee is added to daily rate so when you see rate change/increase, it's often due to this (and additional guests above 2 as well) so don't be confused.
