Quiet Westshore Lake Tahoe Home
Quiet Westshore Lake Tahoe Home

We love the quiet West Shore location, treed view and the ability to walk down the street and into the Tahoe National Forest. It's an easy two mile hike to the lake. Lovely Sugar Pine Point State Park is two minutes away.

Lovely home is located in Tahoma on Lake Tahoe's quiet west shore . It is situated on a quiet deadend street next door to Sugar Pine Point State Park. The home is a few minutes drive from Meeks Bay, fabulous Homewood ski area, or stunning Emerald Bay. Our vacation home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a rock fire place, large deck and 2 car garage.
There are two bedrooms, a bathroom with tub/shower, and laundry facilities on the entrance level. Upstairs is the main living area with a master bedroom, full bathroom with soaking tub, living room with wood burning stove, full kitchen, and dining area. There is a loft above the living room area with a futon bed. The deck is off of the living room and offers serene tree views with a peek of the lake in the distance. The weber gas barbeque is located in the enclosed shed on the deck.
There is convenient Tahoma Market/Deli close by for that item you may have forgotten to pick up on your way in at Tahoe City. West Shore Pizza and Cafe Espresso/Gelatto are other Tahoma attractions. There is local bus service to and from Tahoe City with stops at Homewood ski area.
One of our favorite things to do is to walk down the hill and along the path through Sugar Pine Point State Park to the lakes edge. We call it 'our secret beach' (almost, but not quite) any time of the day, but especially at dusk.

Leave the home as you found it. That means vacuum, wash linens, clean kitchen area. We can arrange for cleaning if you prefer (fee $100). We will need advance notice if you prefer not to clean the place yourselves. Replace anything you use. Read the "Opening and Closing Procedures" that are posted in the kitchen carefully. You may bring your own linens if you prefer. No more than two vehicles allowed. We have a double garage, but there is strictly no parking allowed on the street from Nov.-April.

This place was just as described and portrayed in the pictures. We were glad of the highchair for our toddler, though he kept us busy minding him near and on all the stairs. There are two bathrooms, but just one shower. We were just three adults, but weren't troubled by hot water/water pressure concerns mentioned by previous posters. All and all, great place for the price.

We had a great time more than just a cabin. It is a beautiful spacious home. Great value

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It was very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Sitting on the deck at night offered spectacular star gazing since there are no street lights ;)) We loved the big towering trees. There are beautiful hiking trails near-by. And Lake Tahoe is a mile down the hill. Gorgeous area. There is no wi-fi, and cell reception at the house was spotty and unreliable.

It was our first trip ever to Lake Tahoe and I am very glad that we booked with Pat! Pat's house is wonderful! It is located in a wonderful location and it is clean and a great place to come back to after all the day activities that we did in Tahoe. Pat made the whole process very easy. The communication process from the moment we booked all the way till the last day of our stay was fantastic. I cannot say enough on how staying here made our stay a special one.

It was a good stay but the hot water wasn't as good as I would like it. This was in the winter with snow. I bet in the summer it would be a great location to be in. It was very roomy. It's a great place to be if you go with at least 7 people because of the space that house had.

We stayed here over Christmas with six adults in a snowstorm. It was a very large living space and we loved the living room with the fireplace. We had everything we needed and there were lots of instructions. As others have mentioned, you do need to wash linens, remake the bed, clean the kitchen, etc. Even though you can hire someone to do most of this, you still have to clean the kitchen, remake the beds, and some other things. Either way, you definitely need to plan for at least 2 to 3 hours of time to get the place in order before you leave. The other issue was the hot water. The hot water tank is small and there was only enough hot water for one person to take a short shower at a time. While the soaking tub is lovely, once someone takes a bath, there is no hot water again for some time. This would definitely not be as much of an issue in the summer. If you are coming in winter, even if you have a four-wheel-drive with mud and snow tires, you still should bring chains as there is a steep inclined driveway. It was cleared by a snow remover, however that did not get rid of the ice. The location is beautiful and peaceful. We really love this side of Lake Tahoe and would recommend this listing to families as it really is a large welcoming space with a good size kitchen.
Julie- We have never had a problem with the water heater, even with larger groups than yours. Are you sure you turned up the water heater to NORMAL as you enter and then we request you turn it down to WARM upon leaving. Six adults means a lot of washing of towels and linens. I usually advise large groups to bring their own linens to save on time and water. Thanks for the review.

Great location, easy drive to the ski resorts. Communication is excellent. It's very homey, you'll feel like a local. She has all you need for the kitchen-one less thing to remember. The cleaning arrangement was reasonable, I would probably do the same arrangement if I'm the host. Thank you For letting us stay.

That is a photo of my husband Dan and I holding our grandson James. We have owned our place in Tahoe along with my sister's family for 15 years. We love the outdoors. We enjoy swimming and hiking in the summer and cross country skiing at Sugar Pine Point State Park in the winter.
