Built in 1855 and located in the historical hamlet of mountain view, the schoolhouse sits on an acre of beautiful gardens. It was converted to a home in 1966. There is a church, a former telegraph office, a farm, six homes and a pioneer cemetery.
The room has a private entrance and patio. A queen bed and lots of light. It is the only bnb room in the house so it is very private. The washroom is shared with the host but guests will have priority to shower etc.
Times to use the kitchen to prepare a picnic lunch or dinner can be arranged. Guests are free to roam the gardens and relax in any of the outdoor seating they find comfortable.
I'm am usually in the garden. I can assist in directions or suggestions but I am also happy to leave guests to their privacy. A french press coffee maker and toaster are available if guests wish to make a quick breakfast on their own, they can eat at the table in the large open main room or the kitchen island. A simple breakfast is offered. Coffee / espresso, tea, juice, toast, bagels with cream cheese, jam etc. fresh fruit in season.
It is a non smoking space . There are no pets living in our home at present. There is no cable, tv or internet. The Ameliasburg library is 5 minutes away and has free wifi. I would also welcome an infant at no extra cost.
Guests are expected to be respectful of the space, to relax and enjoy.
