This 45m2 spacious well designed bedroom with separate private bathroom is ideal for couples, friends and small families. Private entrance through the hall. Access to the garden (lots of lounge spots & shady places), pool and views to the field and forest give a classic country feeling. A retreat for guests who are looking for some peace & quiet. Short drive to shops/cafés/restaurants in Lalinde (6km) & close to the Dordogne river and many sights. Pool open June till early Sept.
The spacious room (1st floor) has a rustic charm featuring some open bricked walls and original wooden beams.
A comfortable 4-poster king sized bed (200cmx180cm) ensures the sweetest of dreams and a good sleep. Bedding includes duvets and sheets and if more pillows or blankets are needed please ask us - we have plenty!
Looking through the windows provides you with a view of the garden, fields and small forest attached to the property. On occasion you might be able to spot a few deer running through the garden and fields. More often you will see birds of prey, robins, magpies, rabbits and the occasional mole.
The bathroom contains a sink, toilet, bidet and a separate shower unit. For added comfort we provide large soft towels, a heated towel rack, luxurious bathing soap and a hair dryer. There is also a mini-fridge in the room to keep a bottle or two of wine chilled!
There are heaters to keep you warm during cooler evenings.
Free WIFI is provided. Whilst not the fastest (rural area), it is enough to update your friends and family on social media and surf the web in general.
To start off your day or for an energy boost in between there is a coffee and tea station (we can re-stock it should you run out of anything). The tap water is drinkable but if you prefer, a complimentary bottle of water is provided.
Should you need your clothes cleaned there is a washer and a dryer available on the ground floor as well as an iron and ironing board.
You access the house via the main front door. It opens into a shared hall with a staircase. The staircase takes you to the first floor where your room is.
You can access the pool, terrace and the rest of the garden via the gate next to the garage at the main house.
Access to the swimming pool when the season permits, is usually from June till early September.
The terrace, the garden, walnut orchard and 3.7 hectares of private property with a small forest to explore are also at your disposal.
You can also pick any of our fruit when it is in season; we have cherries, apples, pears, walnuts, figs, kiwis, raspberries and blackberries.
We live in a separate unit on the ground floor, feel free to knock on our door should you need anything or just want to chit chat. If you would like your privacy we will respect that.
We can provide you with information about what there is to see and do in the area. Our priority is to make sure you have a comfortable stay. We hope you come to enjoy the country side and its wild life as much as we do.
In older times the house was the last relay station to the UNESCO world heritage site of the 'Cadouin Abbey'. This was once a part of the famous pilgrimage of Saint Jacques de Compostelle.
Unfortunately not much of that history is known today. However, what still remains is the old bakery (soon to be restored) that fed the pilgrims and monks that travelled and lived here.
We're pretty relaxed when it comes to rules but please keep the following in mind:
No smoking in the house. Outside is no problem - ashtrays provided.
There may be other guests staying at the same time so please be considerate when it comes to noise in the mornings and evenings.
The house and private area are not equipped for children under the age of six, therefore we don't take bookings with kids <9.
Respect the property.
Drive with caution along the small roads as there are many deer, wild boar and rabbits in the area.
Dogs are welcome. (Enclosed garden)
Breakfast is NOT included but can be arranged upon request
Hi I'm Wulf,
I'm 37 years old and am currently living in France with my beautiful girlfriend Adeline. We met on an expedition ship to Antarctica and fell in love under the stars (and the cold) and decided to fulfil our shared dream of country life in France.
We like to travel and enjoy meeting fellow travellers. Everyone has a tale to tell and it is always interesting to hear and share.
I was born and grew up in South East Asia and have travelled and lived in many different countries and find Airbnb a fantastic way to continue my nomadic life and outlook on life.
My background is IT, logistics and everything in between. At the moment I am more of a renovator and gardener. My office is the garden.
I'm open, talkative and interested in pretty much anything under the sun; especially History and Archaeology.
