Feel free to also use the kitchen, put food and drinks in the fridge, or do a load of laundry during your stay. Plenty of street parking in front of the house if you have a car. Great WiFi. Welcome to Austin, TX, the Live Music Capital of the World! Home of the SXSW Interactive Festival, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and the Circuit of the Americas. Even if your trip to Austin doesn't coincide with a big festival or race there is always a lot going on in this dynamic city.
The house: A cozy 1500sqft house in the historic Travis Heights neighborhood just a few blocks from the heart of the South Congress strip. The Private room has a private bathroom and a separate/private entrance. We have a full kitchen, dinning room, living room with a flat screen TV and a great sound system, a backyard and a washer/dryer. Off-street parking in our driveway is available. Includes free WiFi.
The neighborhood: South Congress (SoCo) or Travis Heights. It's the place you want to be if you are visiting Austin. The South Congress eating and shopping district is less than 1 mile away, and there is easy access to major streets and highways. Our house is just a 6-minute cab ride to downtown (2 miles) or easily accessible by bike (we are avid cyclists, so we know). Also, the bus stop is just two blocks away and you can tote your bike on the bus if you are too tired from the day's activities. Our neighborhood is very safe, quiet, and perfectly situated to downtown.
Also, for those who appreciate nature or a good workout, our house is a 5 minute walk to Stacy Park and Big Stacy Pool. It is free and open year round with a constant water temperature of 80 degrees. And Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake is less than a mile away, if you fancy a good run or walk around this beautiful green space. We are close to great hiking and mountain biking on the Barton Creek Greenbelt.
