Tranquil hideaway nestled between Downtown LA and Pasadena. Off historic 110 freeway. There are great restaurants & grocery stores within walking distance. Art museums, galleries & music in both Pasadena & Downtown LA. Close to public transit.
This A-frame bungalow was built in 1925. It sits on a corner in a hilly area east of downtown. A yard surrounds the entire home, providing privacy and hill top views from two directions. There are patios on three sides of the house, great for grilling and entertaining. It is an open house with expansive doors that allow a breeze to flow though. The caretaker of the house lives in the in-law apartment underneath. His name is Bubakar (Ba for short). He works with me in downtown LA and is a great friend and very helpful with the house and anything you might need. He takes care of the house and the dog, Jack- also a good friend.
Guests will have access to the entire first floor of the house, including kitchen and dining area, as well as access to the washing and drying machines in the in-law apartment. There is another full bathroom in the in-law apartment to which guests will have access. There are two off street parking spaces as well.
I will be available to answer any questions. Either Ba or I will be here to greet you.
Tuesday is trash day so loud trucks roll by in the morning. Jack has a habit of barking at this weekly ritual.
Try not to have loud music after 10 on weekdays as the next door neighbors have two small children. Closing the doors and windows helps. I play loud music all the time and have had no complaints so far, keeping this in mind.
I am a designer & tailor, fabricating costumes and installations for the film, music & retail industries. Born in the San Francisco area, my daughter, husband and I recently moved to Pasadena, surrounded with nature.
I have been enjoying renovating this mid century home nestled 9 miles east of DTLA near Pasadena in an area that makes me nostalgic for Berkeley, where I grew up. Both have a mix of weather, culture and art as well as a sense of freedom that allows me to drift and explore all that I have valued since childhood.
My 16 year old calls Los Angeles home. She was born here. She is very fun, creative, and interesting to hang out with. We enjoy hosting very much have met dozens of fascinating people from all over the world who are now friends.
