Situated in a quiet street in the centre of Crieff, this spacious room for two people overlooks the garden and the Grampian hills beyond. It is comfortably furnished, blending early Victorian architecture with a contemporary style, and is decorated with an artist's eye.
We offer friendly hospitality, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Free WiFi, off-street parking, guest's lounge, full breakfast; tea & coffee making facilities in room; toiletries and towels all included.
You are free to come and go, as we are relaxed and informal in our approach. However, please remember that this is our home, and there are likely to be other guests staying too, so we do ask that you are considerate of us and others.
It is also a big help to us if you can let us know when you are arriving. The rooms are usually ready by lunchtime, which means that when you depart, the checkout time is after breakfast (so we can get the room cleaned and ready for the next person!).
We would expect check-in to be by 7pm, unless by prior arrangement!
My 'ARTIST’S STATEMENT' as a mosaic artist sums up a lot about me:
Working in my dry-stone lined bothy in the garden, with views over the hills, I am frequently inspired by this landscape which is reflected in my mosaics. Flowers in abundance feature in the majority of my exhibition pieces, as well as in private commissions. While many of my pieces are considered ‘decorative art’, I also enjoy making mosaics with a more practical purpose such as mirrors, table tops and garden items.
In producing my mosaics, I aim to be true to myself and my interest in recycling and sustainability by incorporating many recycled materials, including those representing me and my home town of Crieff, Perthshire (Crieff Pottery whisky jugs; remnants from a local fused glass artist, wine bottle glass and broken car windows for example).
•Travel: I love exploring new cultures and landscapes. The most memorable of my travels was motor biking in India with our two children
•Reading: I have been a member of a reading group for 12 years
•Tennis: I am an active member of our local club, and play in one of the teams
•Galleries & Exhibitions: special interest in the applied arts
•Gardening: I have a large garden with extensive borders which inspire me in my mosaics
& music - i have an eclectic taste, from eastern fusion to punk, and I love to belly dance!
