Large bedrooms - downstairs master suite has a king-size sleep number bed (adjust the bed to your firmness preference for on both sides of bed. Master bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub. Second and third bedrooms are upstairs (one with a queen-sized bed and the other with twin beds). The second full bath upstairs has a combination shower/tub. Two incredibly comfortable sofas and air mattresses create additional sleeping arrangements. Spacious bedrooms and an open loft room upstairs have plenty of room for any sleeping arrangement.
3 flat screen TV's along with cable TV (300+ channels) are provided.
For those interesting in keeping fit during your stay, free access to the YMCA gym ( it is close by and next to downtown & Austin's HIke/Bike trail around Town Lake).
Help yourself to the welcome basket of snacks, and a refrigerator with craft beer. The refrigerator will also be stocked plenty of breakfast options (yogurt, eggs/bacon, smoked salmon, & milk/cereal). Let us know if there is any anything you require to make your stay more enjoyable. We can accommodate practically any request. Welcome Packet will give excellent recommendations of nearby restaurants/bars.
You'll have free run of the entire houseBreakfast items of your choosing will be provided in the fridge. For those who wish to cook, the kitchen is fully stocked with practically any utensil/spice you could need. A farmer's market occurs on Sundays only two blocks away.
Several of Austin's top restaurant choices and popular pubs are nearby. From "Top Chef" Paul Qui's restaurant East Side King to the top ranked restaurant in town (Uchi) to pizza joints to places specializing in vegetarian dishes. Popular drinking holes nearby are Black Sheep Lodge, Austin Beer Garden Brewing (ABGB), Gordough's, and Red's Porch.
For those wishing to stay fit, there are fitness DVD's or a free guest pass to nearby YMCA is provided . The famous running trail along Town Lake is also close by. The cold springs of Barton Springs Pool are nearby as well as numerous places to rent a canoe, kayak, or paddle board on Town Lake. Or you can go hike the Barton Creek Greenbelt with a trailhead a mile away from the home.
Before your arrival, you will receive an email from me inquiring as to what items you wish to have the fridge stocked with for breakfast as well as a very descriptive introduction to the top restaurant and bars all within one mile of the house. We are happy to introduce you to all that Austin and the neighborhood have to provide.
Please, no smoking inside the house. Would appreciate guests to smoke outside in backyard. Welcome basket will include local recommendations for restaurant/bars.
I am a school teacher and live with my wife and child. We have lived in many great places (New York City and Chicago) but chose to move back to Austin as it is such a great city.
