Prices' cottage was so quiet, comfortable, and peaceful that I ended up staying an extra day. She has it beautifully decorated, and there is lots of light with an open, airy feel. The bed was super comfortable, the location perfect for walking downtown, and great for a morning run as well. Price was very communicative and welcoming, and left a delicious bottle of wine to enjoy.
My fiancé and I stayed over the weekend and found the cottage was perfect for a romantic getaway. The loft is above the kitchen, so it wouldn't be extremely private, but I am sure it would be fun for kids to stay in (assuming they are old enough to sleep in a top bunk essentially.) This cottage was charming, well decorated, and had a beautiful backyard with 2 fire pits. Our dogs loved the yard which was so wonderful because we never get to see them run around as much in our small yard at home. The yard is shared with the main house. Price was very responsive and helpful with all my questions and gave great recommendations, like Tavola for dinner. He also allowed us to adjust our check out time, which was much appreciated. When we read the ad, they stated there were bikes to use, but unfortunately those are no longer available for use. Luckily the university has Sobi bikes along campus that you can rent with an app if you want to bike around. We also didn't get a welcome drink, but this was due to our 10pm arrival, which is completely understandable. The location is a 6 min drive to the downtown mall (a fun street to walk down, shop, or get dinner/drinks). This is more where locals and graduate students go. The Corner/UVA is about a 12 min drive. Monticello is about 15mins. Overall we were delighted with our stay here and would highly recommend the cottage!
