"The Haven" Clean beautiful top two floors of newly renovated house in artistic neighbourhood blocks from downtown. Wood floors, high ceilings, lots of air and light and space. Quiet, safe, lots of character, easy walk to Gastown, Chinatown, Downtown
Private Bedroom with double size futon mattress, linens and towels, and big closet with lots of storage for clothes and luggage. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential, a surprising oasis so close to the downtown core. The South-facing window has a view of the giant oak tree in the front yard, so in the morning you'll hear birds and wake up to blue sky and oak leaves.
Two full bathrooms, one with shower, one with tub and shower, beautifully designed. The whole place is newly renovated, high ceilings, open concept kitchen and living room, refinished original wood floors, minimalist decor for maximum light and space.
Everything in the space is open to guests. I'm always nearby and happy to help as necessary.
We're right next door to a fantastic coffee shop (Finch's) and within two blocks you'll find two authentic little Italian markets (Benny's and the Union St Market), a large park (MacLean Park), a funky arthouse coffee shop (The Wilder Snail), a community centre with a very inexpensive gym (Strathcona Community Centre), and at least a dozen artist studios. Another few blocks and you've got access to all of Chinatown: restaurants (The Parker, The Union, Oyster Express, Bao Bei), nightclubs and concert venues (The Electric Owl, Fortune Sound Club, The Rickshaw, The Astoria), a beautiful 17th century Chinese Scholar's Garden (Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden - National Geographic 'World's Best City Garden'), shopping (Gastown, International Village Mall) and more.
There's plenty of free street parking in front of the house, we're a three minute drive or a twenty minute easy walk from downtown, and easy walking distance from major bus routes, Stadium Street Skytrain station, and the bus/train station at Main & Terminal.
The house is shared with very cool creative people: an actor/acting teacher, a activist/triathelete/lawyer, and a visual effects artist. We have very diverse schedules, but love to periodically hang out in the kitchen over a growler from one of the local microbreweries and and swap stories. If you want to connect with the real creative cultural life of Vancouver, this is what it looks like.
Guests have access to all of the spaces and both bathrooms.

I'm an actor and run a casting studio and a professional film and television acting school in downtown Vancouver.
I love to cook, though would rarely do it for myself but rather (in between classes and other projects) organize fancy diner and share my latest innovation, preferably with adventurous folks. I have pulled out a few culinary miracles but also engineered a few catastrophic diners. ;)
