My wife and I are both educators, and leaving the DC area for Christmas break. We'd like to offer our wonderful basement apartment to someone visiting for that window of time, and in the process find a good caretaker for our sweet cat. Not looking to make a profit -- just cover our costs, and our cat. :) Nearby bars, restaurants, coffee.
We occupy the whole basement of a house. We have our own entrances, you'd have the whole space to yourself. We have a washer/dryer and dishwasher in the unit. Our kitchen is well-stocked for any cooking project. You control the heat for the whole unit.
Whole space: we'll be gone.
Can call or email, and we have friends in the area who can look in if things are awry.
We have a cat--Wallace--who comes with the space. We adopted him from friends who foster, and we feel that traveling would be uncomfortably disruptive for him. He's extraordinarily sweet, pretty self-sufficient, and we'll obviously have all supplies ready-to-go for you.
We recognize that this is an imposition, so we've discounted the place significantly -- but we're looking for the right person -- someone who will allow our cat to stay put, who won't trash the place, who will jive with our lovely landlords upstairs, etc. So...if that's you, please message us, and let's see what we can do!
Our landlord upstairs have young kids, so we want to be respectful of that in deciding who lives in our apartment.
