This quirky space that won't suit everyone- a bit like glamping in a small treehouse! Finished in 2009, the Union St. Shack is a small, stylish, two storey barn style outhouse (completely separate from the main house) at the bottom of our picturesque cottage garden with the attic converted into a two room + bathroom accommodation. Features include antique glass vestibule doors, seagrass flooring, spotted gum external staircase and landing, travertine tiled ensuites, pure down feather doonas and crisp contemporary linen. The VERY small 2nd room is accessed through the first and bathroom. It is small but sweet and has no window. There is a bath but no shower. There is an outdoor hot shower at side of main house. Suited to up to 2 adults + 2 young kids or 3 adults (too small for 4 adults). There is tea and kettle but NO KITCHEN, FRIDGE or LOUNGE FACILITIES (just what you can see in the pics). We can direct you to the best food and coffee spots only a short stroll away. Sleep in and take advantage of our 12pm check out.
Our home is a white limestone cottage with a verandah, grey door and cane storage chest under the verandah. Entry is via the side gate to our rear garden. Tilly, the blond shaggy groodle WILL jump but she just wants love and affection!
We can assist with recommendations for restaurants, coffee spots, local sights and the best beaches, surf spots and walks.
We have 2 overly friendly dogs (the blonde one jumps!) and 3 pet free-range chooks so guest must be dog and hen friendly!! The Bungalow is a separate building from the main house and backs onto the rear oval of the local primary school. There are no windows except in the glass vestibule door however there are air vents in all rooms to provide fresh air.
Please look after the property. No pets, shoes & smoking inside. Please use just the number of beds you have booked for.
Who Lives Here- Fiona, Keith, 5yr old Kitty, 2 dogs and 4 boutique pet hens. We live in an 1860's stone cottage at the front of the property. We run the local surf and paddle board school (Go Surf) and work from home. We love Port Fairy and hope you will too!
