We fell in love with this stone home built in 1850 nearly 3 years ago. In the heart of Chablis wine country, the location on the Burgundy Canal and its proximity to so many wonderful sites left us breathless. We bet you'll fall in love with it, too
We have been restoring this home since purchasing it a few years ago. One of our favorite moments of the day, is having a coffee or glass of wine on the front terrace for a front-row seat of all the boats going through the lock. Christophe, who manages the lock, is a friend and great neighbor always happy to help. Just behind the lock, there are great walks to be had on the more than 100km of trails in the region in either direction. Behind the house, we have a large terrace (100sqm) and a large garden of 1000sqm. Both are full southern exposure.
We rent out the entire home. No room is off limits. We simply ask that our guests respect the quiet and privacy of our neighbors by keeping the music to a reasonable level during those inevitable late-night barbeques. And please recycle!
Our family splits it time between Paris and our home in Burgundy. We are very available to answer questions you might have or to address any issues you might have during your stay.
