Cute single story little green house surrounded by fruit trees. My sister and I live here (we're 26 & 28yrs young!). You get the bedroom w/ its own private bathroom! Cruise the coastline from Venice's Muscle Beach to the Santa Monica Pier with two complimentary beach cruisers. Afterwards, hang out in our fruit garden, relax in your private room, or watch a movie with us on our projector in the living room. Surf the net w/ FIOS super fast internet with 50Mbps (Wifi) or 80Mbps (Ethernet) speeds.
This is a 1940s, single story (one floor), detached house with a nice fruit garden surrounding it. Our two dogs (Siberian Husky & Husky mix) are not allowed in the house and live in our courtyard so you can avoid them by using our front entrance. Our home has hardwood floors throughout except in bathrooms and kitchen. If you're going to the beach take the complimentary beach cruisers complete with their own baskets (comes in handy for towels, groceries, etc.), locks & helmets and ride west on Palms directly to Abbott Kinney (5min ride). The ride to Venice Beach on bike takes 10-15minutes. We can give you tips on local spots to check out. If you need to check out later let us know your schedule - we're pretty flexible about leaving stuff at the house for an earlier partial check in or check out.
You have your own private bedroom (w/ lock on door) with its own private full bathroom. You can hang out in our living room, dining area, & front yard. You can use our kitchen (we have space in the fridge for you), laundry machines (we have detergent for you). We have a coffee grinder, drip coffee machine, rice cooker, crock pot, and a variety of pots and pans for you to use. The back yard is off limits though as that space is for the neighboring building - there are two quiet dogs that live in the side yard (they are not indoor dogs) that belong to the neighbor.
We will definitely provide you with the entrance key and respond via text if you have a problem. We typically go to bed around midnight but quiet hours start around 11pm, however we're flexible so if you want them to start earlier let us know. We've got busy schedules so we may not be able to have long conversations with you or answer a ton of questions about the area. We provide a few LA Tourist books for you to help with your sight-seeing and trip planning - just please let them at the house.
If you use the bikes please always lock them securely. Also please do not lay them in the sand as sand can damage the gear shifter.
You can wear shoes inside just please wipe them on the floor matt upon entering the front door. Also please shake off sand outside too.
No smoking inside the house however you can smoke outside provided you properly dispose of the cigarette butt.
Please place dishes into the dishwasher after use unless they are large in which case please wash them.
Please do not eat the fruit off the fruit trees without asking us first (it takes a lot of work to water and care for the trees so we like to have first pick of the fruit).
Please no loud music or noise after 10:30PM - This includes not running the washer or dryer after 10:30PM.
I'm from Rochester, NY and was on the ski team there! I did my undergrad at UC Berkeley in business administration and now I live in Venice Beach, CA.
I liked reading, rollerblading, salsa dancing & traveling.
Adventurous anecdote - Recently I went on a 5 week cycling tour trip with my sister, Kira, through New Zealand. Visited Hobbiton (of course!), climbed volcanoes, white water rafted, admired lakes, waterfalls, the country side (sooo many sheep), and a very strange Steampunk museum.
My sister works at a boxing gym, Box n' Burn, in Santa Monica. For exercise I prefer Rollerblading from here to the Santa Monica pier by going along the bike path along Venice beach. I go to a salsa class every Thursday with my girlfriend and it's open to anyone if you want to join us.
We have two outside dogs - one is a Siberian Husky and the other is a Husky mix - both are friendly and are kept in the back yard so you can always enter the front if you don't want to meet them.
