PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE RELOCATED SO THIS PARTICULAR LISTING REMAINS FOR REVIEW HISTORY ONLY and will be fully delisted once there are ample reviews under the new listing. See our other listing HEAVENLY RETREAT OUTSIDE SHELBURNE FALLS for new booking queries. It is a historic home with fireplaced room and gorgeous grounds in a peaceful setting with WiFi and outdoor fireplace, patio, formal garden, apple trees and stone walls.
The overall property is smaller than our listing under Montague (Fabulous Retreat Near Amherst/Noho), but with the same decor and attention to detail. Check out our other reviews! Windows overlook gardens and adjacent fields, a beautiful birch, lilacs in spring, and barns. Bath is private with tub/shower combo. We are situated on nearly 3/4 acre, with open lawn, roses, rhododendron, forsythia and (hopefully) some fruit on a couple of trees. You can relax outside on a stone patio or under the trees in the open.
Books, cook books, cookware, spices and the like. Also, plentiful music, internet and wifi.
We care very social and can be as present as you like (certainly we will be in the main part of the house at busy times) but if you like to retreat in your room that is fine too.
We are not set up to take arrivals before 6pm on regular weekdays. We do have 2 sweet dogs over 10 years old who should not be let out on their own. During summer you are welcome to help in the garden and use some of the veggies and herbs that should spring up (fingers crossed).
See Description. This particular listing is not available and remains only for review purposes so you have a sense of your new hosts and how we run our spare room. Our current offering (new house) is Heavenly Retreat outside Shelburne Falls, which is only 20 minutes from Ashfield where our old house (this listing) was. So after reviewing the reviews here, please be sure to request under the correct listing Heavenly Retreat. Apart from the shared bath in the new place, the new place is bound to be a better experience overall in terms of actual accommodation. Very spacious and charming. Once we have a few reviews, this listing will be fully delisted as the review history will no longer be necessary or useful to travelers.
I am an alum of nearby Smith College who returned to this area after a lifetime in California. I love travel, eclectic music, good films, Indian food. My husband Scott and I are both friendly and love meeting new people but we also can leave you alone for your solitude. Our dog is friendly. If you need restaurant or outing recommendations, we are happy to help you out. And we are often game for a good round of Yahtzee or ???
