A soft, peaceful space with abundant natural light and exposed brick awaits!
Get an authentic and lively feel of New York City without the inflated price tag by nesting yourself in Manhattan's up and coming neighborhood of El Barrio/East Harlem. You'll be surprisinly close to all the action and attractions while not being right on top of them.
A humble home to my family since 1977, this brownstone is where I grew up since birth! It's a great place to feel at peace within the sleepless chaos that characterizes the New York experence - Let my home be your sanctuary! The neighborhood has a largely Puerto Rican and Mexican influence to the East (with some hints of the Italian legacy that once defined it) and West African to the West.
The apartment itself is large and spacey by NY standards - it is long and airy with high ceilings, abundant natural light from the north and south (including a small roof skylight!), beautiful exposed warm brick wall (everyones favorite), fully furnished kitchen with every gadget your heart desires (Omegaa Juicer, Breville Smart Oven, Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, Ninja Kitchen System, Espresso machine/Coffee grinder/French Press, Begian Waffle Iron, and more), dining area, ice maker, air conditioning/heat, full sized bath tub, WIFI, Direct TV HD-DVR on a 42" LCD w/ Dolby Digital Surround sound speakers (w/ HBO Now and Netflix), Sony Playstation 4, Queen Sized Sleep number bed, plenty of closet and dresser space, and secondary couch/bed. There is also an additional twin size air mattress for additional guests.
My home is situated midblock on the quiet, residential portion of the main boulevard of East 116 Street between First and Second Avenues. Public transportation to the rest of the city is nearby and accessible 24/7 - the East Side 6 (Green) train line is approximately 7 minutes away front door-to-train, and there are bus stations in every direction. Cabs can be hailed quickly on the street, and uber/Lyft is available for fast pick up. Times Square is approximately 20-25 minutes away via subway. The neighborhood itself is very safe and well illuminated 24/7, and is walkable as there are many amazing local dining experiences to be found nearby. Alternate side parking is available without permits or meters as well as private garage space 2 blocks away.
Central Park is approximately 20-25 minutes away on foot. There is a large park with track and field, basketball and handball courts, baseball fields, a swimming pool, and jogging/bike path along the East River just a few blocks east (that runs continuous to midtown 59th street, where all the touristy sights begin).
For all your needs there are plenty of super markets, bodegas, delis, pharmacies, banks, and a vast shopping mall on 117th and Pleasant Ave (including Target, Aldi, Marshalls, Costco, Old Navy, and more).

Smart Convection oven

Im a full time host on airbnb, using this platform to power my adventures around the world while maintaining a great level of financial freedom in my own life.
Airbnb is a great and affordable way to experience new places authentically, with the help of a local. I recently just completed a road trip from Los Angeles CA to New York City in 13 days while driving along the southern route with my companion, Jacqui. We enjoyed a few great Bnb's along the way!
By profession, I am a bike messenger, community organizer and advocate. I love to ride because it is the BEST way to see a city, be healthy and avoid traffic and parking stress. I care deeply about nature and living cleanly and respectfully.
I say to every one, travel FAR and travel OFTEN, and be good to mother earth.
