Claude and June met in France when June, who is Canadian, was studying French in order to work in French speaking Africa. Claude was born and raised in southern France, near Lyon. They both worked in Niger and Benin, Africa as missionaries, Claude working especially in the area of radio. They had a son, and then adopted a Fulani baby girl in Benin.
Their son is living in Calgary, working as a framer. Their daughter is on staff with YWAM in Honolulu, Hawaii.
June and Claude have always been interested in hospitality. In Africa they often hosted friends and strangers in their home and just loved to meet new people.
They returned to Canada in 2002 and for the past several years June has done contract work with exchange students, again enjoying the contact with people. They both find cultural differences intriguing and love to entertain people from all walks of life. They had a lovely home built in 2003 in Cremona, right on the Cowboy Trail. The home has a breath-taking view of the mountains and is in a perfect area for hiking, horseback riding, quading, golfing, white water rafting and canoeing. Skiing in Kananaskis is only an hour and a half away and the Tirrel Museum (Drumheller) is just over an hour east.
Since their children are both gone from home, their beautiful home seems just too big for only the two of them. Their love for hosting people in their home and their ease at meeting new people and making them feel at home gave them the idea that a Bed and Breakfast would be a perfect fit for them. Claude and June are both bilingual and would be able to communicate in English or French.
