My apartment is 7 blocks to the very famous Venice Beach. It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, kitchen, front patio in the courtyard and secured entry. There are four units in the building. My neighbors are extremely nice and work during the days. The place gets good light and is usually cool during the summer and has plenty of windows keeping the place airy and beachy breeze fresh.
There is parking in back for one car in an open space without a gate. We have had very few problems here with cars being parked out back.
I have wireless internet and roku, which streams pandora, netflix and TED at this time. There is also BluRay for any movies you might have that are NTSC.
Both bedrooms have queen size beds and desks. One is my main room and is a little bigger than the other.
Licorice, my one year little black cat is an outdoor-indoor cat who is very independent and active. She comes in for food, a few cuddles and then is usually back out climbing trees. She either will be here during your stay with kitty sitters coming by to feed her, or she will be dropped off at her friend's where she will stay during your stay here. We can discuss.
Venice is a busy place with many things to do. There are bike enthusiasts, surfers, gallery hoppers, shoppers, tourists from around the world, architects, techies, artists, musicians, yogis, filmmakers, foodies, etc. On Rose, the street I live on, there are restaurants dotting the Avenue. A fresh Mexican Fusion style cuisine, a Vegan Veggie Cafe, a tapas wine bar with excellent paninis, an Ale House on the beach for sunset beer, etc. Whole Foods is one block away for food essentials and if you feel like meeting some locals in their morning routine, hop across the street to Groundworks, our local fair trade coffee shop that has a consistent flow of interesting characters.
Abbot Kinney, the high end avenue, is 6 blocks up and three blocks in. There you will find shops and a variety of restaurants to choose from and certainly will see locals walking their dogs or dining out.
Main Street is perpendicular to Rose Avenue and is another option for shopping and dining out.
There are places to listen to live music nearby and always seem to draw a fun young crowd.
I have one bike here and there is a bike rental place at the end of Rose Avenue on the beach.
The weather is great for staying local and bus lines come every ten to fifteen minutes which go around town.
Respectful of me, property, and us who live here. My landlords realize I am hosting people here, and we, you the guest and me the host, have built a solid airbnb reputation. Let's keep it that way. I can be helpful at times, but please no outrageous commands or expectations. This is not a hotel and I am only one person. Please do your best to arrive with a non-competitive win-win attitude. This is a shared situation, so both our comfort is important but I do have various responsibilities to attend to and I love to find the balance between saying hello, having a chat, and also being busy. No random guests unless cleared by me. Return keys. This is my private space, my hours tend to vary day-to-day with a busy schedule to work from home and out. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns with the space and I will attend to them as soon as possible. Please be respectful of using towels and try to reuse towels until it is necessary to change. Please keep my phone number with you in case I am not home and you need to contact me- txtng, calling or sending an e-mail always works. If you are a smoker, please smoke outside in back outside the back gate. If you do not want Licorice in your room, please close your door. Please do not leave the heater or fan on when you leave your room. Please do not leave water running. Please understand that this community has both affluent and poor people who are all trying to get along. It is a mixed racial community and it is foreign and domestic alike. There are gay and straight and young and old. Please be open minded and understand where you are staying. Local, national and international people are most welcome.
