Have a city-getaway all to yourself in an artist's spacious railroad apt that includes a clawfoot bathtub, huge eat in kitchen with a backyard view, super comfy double bed, and good morning and evening sunlight.
I love this apartment because you're given the rare opportunity to spread out and decompress from the pace of city life. Meanwhile, there are plenty of diversions a quick subway ride away if you feel like going out. The M and L trains make it super easy to get to Bushwick, Williamsburg, and the Lower East Side. Plus, it's the kind of neighborhood you feel safe walking around at night, lots of interesting little shops to peruse during the day, and quite a diverse array of cultures and generations. A much more complex and comprehensive portrait of New York than the over run trendy neighborhoods.
The entire apartment! Huge bedroom with double bed; large living room with ceiling fan, an eat-in kitchen with new appliances; clean and cute bathroom with a clawfoot tub (great for baths!), interesting decor, electric organ, electric guitar, plants, books.
I won't be here, but you may run into my neighbors, as the apartment is in a four-unit building. There's a 30-something couple upstairs, and two middle aged adults in the other apartments.
The apartment door is a manual lock, so locking the door with the key when you leave is mandatory, as is closing and locking all the windows upon leaving the house. The neighborhood is very safe and friendly, but as the apartment is on the first floor, we don't like to take chances.
No smoking of any kind is permitted in the building, nor are pets permitted.
After 11pm, maintain a respectful volume when listening to music and conversing in the apartment. :) My neighbors' days start early, so I expect guests to be polite, respectful, and accommodating in regards to noise levels, and to please keep visitors to a minimum.
