Basic But Pleasant Stay
My husband and toddler stayed at Anna's place for 4 nights in July 2017.
- Anna was quick to respond, easy to work with, and was flexible with check in and check out times.
- The condo itself was located very centrally, right across the plaza to the playground, grocery store, bakery, coffee shops, etc.
-The living room was nicely decorated, with views of the mountains. There was a big screen tv, and a window bench that was nice to sit at while looking outside.
-For families: Anna provided a pack and play, which was great because we didn't need to bring one from home.
- Some snacks (popcorn, granola bars) and drinks (soda) were provided, even though we did not take them, it was a thoughtful touch.
-Due to the central location, the condo is quite noisy. We kept the windows closed but there was still street noise until past midnight or later every night.
-The condo building itself is pretty dated. The elevator, carpets and hallways could do with some updating.
-The hot tub area didn't look very clean; there were always large groups of young men in there when we went to check it out, and I'm not sure I would have brought my toddler in there anyway.
-The bathroom is pretty small. I'm 5'5" and found it tight. It was fine for the few days we were visiting.
-The kitchen had pretty basic cookware, utensils, etc. We made pasta and simple meals, but I wouldn't expect to make more elaborate meals.
Overall, our host was pleasant and we enjoyed Whistler very much. We didn't use the car the entire time we were there, which was great. However, for the price paid, as well as the noise factor, we would likely choose to stay at the Hilton next time.
