La Foresteria Suite with kitchen Centenary olive grove on site

The organic farm Pieve di Caminino is an important historic site: former medieval monastery (the XII century church is now a private museum) it covers 200 hectares (500 acres) of fenced private property, set on a panoramic hillside. Just seven accommodations, which are independent and self-catering, with their private patio or balcony, share acres of park with swimming pool (seasonal), two ponds, and miles for hiking in centenary olive orchard, vineyards and a forest of cork trees.

Just seven "boutique" stylish self catering accommodations, differently sized, restyled by Marrucchi Locatelli family of architects - who owns this place since 1873 - with original painting and pieces of furniture from their collections, are sharing this romantic estate
Size goes from a basic single/double bedroom with self catering breakfast/snack equipment, till apartments for up to 4 people with two bedrooms, full kitchen and private furnished terrace.

The accommodations have all their independent entrance. Guests are personally welcome by the me, I will supply them with a bunch of keys which includes their home key, a remote control for car gate and a key that opens all gates on the fence if they like to extend their walks. Guests will be welcome in the hall of the former 11th century church, now a permanent museum. This space is not a shared space, but guided tours are offered on request during guests stay. All the accommodations have their private furnished external spaces, but there are also some shared outdoor areas like the pool or the garden by the pond. The forest, the centenary olive orchard (2000 trees) and the vineyard are available for all guests for walking, hiking jogging.

I live in one of the accommodations in the main antique building. I am happy to share all my experience about surroundings, tours, excursions, wineries, groceries, restaurants, shops. I have a rich library with maps, guides, and I am happy to share it with my guests. I will print for them also the special updated maps I personally edit. I am always available on my cellphone for any emergency.

The farm produces since 1873 a very genuine extra virgin olive oil, organic certified, and white wine. We are very happy to offer a taste to our guests when they prefer. In order to appreciate this atmosphere at its best, we intentionally have chosen not to install TVs in our accommodations. Guests are welcome on arrival with a glass of our wine inside the wall of the antique former parish church, nowadays a private museum whose visit is a privilege reserved only for Caminino's guests.

Caminino is a great place for a secluded, peaceful break. Emy made us very welcome on our arrival; he provided lots of local information with maps, places of interest and excellent restaurants, all helped by a glass of cold white wine as we registered. We stayed in the library loft which is a fabulous space. There are lots of places to visit within a short drive and the whole area is very beautiful. There were few tourists in the region compared with other parts of Tuscany and so we felt we had a real Tuscan experience. The pool was most welcome in the heat wave whilst we were there. Emy was available whenever he was needed and was always happy to help with any queries. We have no hesitation in recommending Caminino and would love to visit again.

Pieve di Caminino is truly a unique and incredible place. I would recommend it to anyone young or old. It's difficult to even put in to words and even the pictures we would take wouldn't do it justice. Gorgeous scenery no matter which direction you looked. Driving around the area and seeing little historical towns on tops of hills, fields and fields on grapes or olive trees. Just an amazing place. On top of all that, you have a fantastic host in Emiliano. Was soooo great leading up to and during our stay. So helpful. On our first night we arrived a bit later than we had wanted to (flight delay) and upon arriving we were greeted by Emi and just walking into the main area and our room - all lit up with outdoor tea lights around the main buildings. Wow. And knowing that we had just drove flew and then drove for 2 hours to get there from Rome, Emi was so great and booked us a table at a near by restaurant Da Nada - so good we went back on our last night again. Emiliano is truly a great and hardworking host. Maintaining the farm as well as making sure all the guests are happy. He spent time giving us all the best stuff to do. So many things that he even suggested not to do it all, but just giving us as many options as possible to make us get the most out of Roccastrada and the surrounding area. He truly went above and beyond what a host needs to do. Try his olive oil! We're still enjoying our bottle in our next stop in Italy. As for our stay - we stayed in the School. A really good sized building off the main building. You walked through an awesome all glass door which got you into the entrance area, then off the entrance to the left was a huge room with a kitchen, dining area, huge bookshelf that divided off the bedroom, and another door out to a great balcony. Honestly I would never be able to describe it in a way that does it justice. I wish I could attach a photo or two. You have to just see it. The entire property is amazing. The pool is huge and has an AMAZING view to relax by. Food - we had amazing meals here period. Da Nada is a great little family owned place nearby. We went twice. The first night we literally felt like part of the family and we had a wonderful meal. The second time we were able to go a bit earlier and we were on the back patio during sunset - it's overlooking exactly what you think of when you think of Tuscany - a panoramic view of fields and hills and mountains in the distance. Absolutely beautiful sunset. Best we saw on our whole trip (better than anything in Santorini). Da Nada had amazing homemade pasta. I...
Grazie mille! It was such a pleasure to be your neighbor! Come back soon!

My husband and I came here for part of our honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay at Pieve di Caminino! The property is lovely, situated in beautiful Tuscan hills. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and Emiliano was a friendly and helpful host who gave us good tips on where to eat and places to visit. We stayed in the library room for 6 nights which is a very large single open room. We would, however, let visitors know that the nights may be very warm - although the temperature drops significantly at night in the region - there are not many windows with mosquito screens to open at night to air out the large room.

Pieve di Caminino offered a an authentic Tuscan holiday experience. There is plenty to do within the grounds if you decide to take a break from sightseeing. Emy's introduction and overview of the region is the most comprehensive I have received from an Airbnb host, and his suggestions were much appreciated. I would never had known half of them existed! I highly recommend staying at Caminino.

Emy provided us with a lovely welcome, including a bottle of delicious white wine from the estate. He has produced a very helpful map of the local towns and villages, listing and describing good places to shop, eat, and drink, and took the time to talk us through it and provide us with some great recommendations. We rented the Library Loft, an alternate room to the one in the listing (at a slightly increased nightly rate, be aware of the extra AirBnB fees when booking too) which was a incredible large romantic open space, including a dining table and kitchenette, with twin hob, toaster-oven and kettle, along with everything you need for cooking. The room has an en-suite with toilet and shower, and many of the windows have screens to keep the air fresh without letting the insects in. The property is surrounded by beautiful grounds which are well worth exploring, and it is a very quiet rural area. Some noise from other rooms and other nearby estates can carry. Sitting out on the grounds at night the fireflies were a lovely surprise too.

As the previous review stated, it's difficult to describe this place. Coming from the busy NYC area, it's everything my wife & I hoped for. It was perfect. Emy and his mother were incredibly helpful & warm to us. This is why you use Airbnb...for these types of experiences. We stayed in the studio. We cook most breakfasts & lunches, so it had all kitchen equipment you'd need & the grocery store (Coop) was 5-10 minute drive. Emy's suggestions for dinner, hill towns to visit, wine tours, etc. were fantastic. If you're looking for a unique visit to Tuscany, this place is it.
Thank you very much for the review and for the new iron you left us! Yes we have an iron board to share with other accommodations, we keep it in the laundry. I forgot to mention it... Ciao!

I am not even sure how to describe this experience. This place is amazing. It's like a very different location after coming from New York. Emy was super nice by offering us great tips, wine, olive oil from the farm and making sure we are comfortable. He was very kind and super helpful. The gated farmhouse has its charm and it's a unique place. I recommend it to anyone.
Thank you! I really hope to see you soon!!!
