We had a great stay at Benjamin's apartment! Benjamin's sister greeted me upon arrival. She didn't provide a walk-through of the apartment, which would have been nice, but she made me feel welcome as we chatted a bit about Paris. The apartment was clean, quiet, and very spacious, particularly for a place in Paris. It was also in a great location - right in the heart of the Marais, with boulangeries, cafes, and restaurants just a couple blocks away. The only thing to note is that the toilet room smells smoky from the neighbors - but as long as you keep the toilet room door closed, the smell will not go into the rest of the apartment. Also, Benjamin was very flexible about allowing us to keep our luggage in the apartment past the designated check-out time due to the timing of our train. We were grateful for his flexibility as it allowed us to spend an extra afternoon exploring Paris! Thank you for a fantastic visit!
Benjamin communicated clearly with us at all times to facilitate our arrival and stay in Paris. The apartment was exactly as promised, clean and very comfortable. We were so happy with it in every way, especially the very comfortable bed. The location was wonderful with easy access to the metro, and an interesting neighborhood to walk around in. We were also very grateful to Benjamin for his kindness and consideration in being able to accommodate our request to leave our luggage there beyond the customary check in /check out time. Thank you, Benjamin. Well done.
When we were first arrived, the elevator was broken, so we lugged our suitcases up many flights of stairs. The stairs are very uneven. I almost felt like I was entering a fun house. That thought continued when I entered the apartment because the apartment isn't level. The bedroom and futon were great for 3 people. We had plenty of space. Unfortunately, the bathroom was a little dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. Additionally, when we arrived, there was laundry hanging on a rack that they just left in the apartment throughout our stay. The location was fairly convenient. We were able to visit the Jewish Quarter quite easily.
Very unfriendly host. -Was unresponsive to messages sent on airbnb once the booking was done. - Despite being informed at the time of the booking that we would need a late checkin, informed me only 2 days prior to the booking that we will need to come to another place, some 20 mins drive away, from the apartment to pick the keys. - On arrival provided no information whatsover to enable a smooth checkin/stay at the apartment. - I had to contact the host twice during our stay - once during check-in when the lights in the apartment were not working and second time when the lift in the apartment building didn't work - I requested the host to help by contacting the concerned person to see if this could be repaired (I had specifically chosen an apartment with a lift as was traveling with my parents). The host point blank refused to even try to help. In fact spoke rather rudely insisting that he should not be contacted for anything. We were made to feel very unwelcome.
You are unwelcome to be honest. You are the first guest who complain about the flat. You called me maybe 20 times during the night before the check-in ? Just to be sure the booking was confirmed. One time would have been enough. Anyway. You can be sure that I will never host you again... Dimple is very rude, not clean, and crazy.....
