This is a family owned cottage that we designed and built ourselves with the help of carpenters in 2008-2009. We expect guests to take good care of it. No more than six guests are allowed.

The cottage will be cleaned by us but you should leave the house in the order it was when you checked in, tableware washed, trash in the containers that are located just outside the mobile gate, and the hot tub securely strapped.

Please do not wash the linens (sheet sets) unless there is an accident. If you want to change them please use the spare ones in the cabinets/drawers and inform us so we can plan accordingly. We are very particular about how, with what and on which program and temperature they are washed :-)

During the winter you should NOT turn the heaters all the way down when you check out. If temp goes below 0C (32F) the water in the pipes could freeze and the pipes explode.

More details in the House Manual that you get access to when we have accepted your reservation.

One of a kind cottage set in a one of a kind setting. Away from tourists yet surrounded by incredible nature sights around every turn. Oddny was a fantastic host and promptly answered our (many) questions in a timely and informative way. Words do not do this cottage or host justice; simply incredible!

This place was charming, about 30 min from Reykjavik. We were able to see the Northern Lights, right off the deck.

What a wonderful little house! We enjoyed our stay and our three year old didn't want leave. Very family friendly and beautifully located. We got to see some northern lights, enjoyed the hot tub, and it was easy to cook in the well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting. We had a rainbow every morning (don't think that's part of the deal, though). Excellent for children.

This cottage served our family of 5 (including 3 children ranging in age from 6 to 13 years) very well during our recent week long visit to Iceland. The location was perfect for day trips to Snaefellsnes peninsula, Kaldidalur pass, Vik, the Golden Circle and of course Reykjavik. The valley itself is also quite beautiful and afforded several opportunities for hiking and encounters with horses and sheep. Evening soaks in the hottub were a great way to end the day. I would highly recommend this cottage to families traveling to the area.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. This is a lovely, well-equipped and comfortable house and was a perfect "home base" for our family. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they were quick to answer any questions we had.

Stayed at this cottage in July 2017 with my husband and our 17 year old son. This is a beautiful wooden structure with views of a scenic valley. Not far into the hills, but nonetheless there is a steep headwall with snow in July above. The house is spotless, spacious, stylish, and filled with small, homey touches. It also has character, thanks to the wood crafts done by the owners. Delightful to sit on the porch and look out at the garden & the view on a summer evening. There is a guide to the house with clear explanations for how to use the dishwasher, washing machine, etc. The furniture is comfortable and the kitchen is well-supplied. The hosts were professional and prompt with communications. We will definitely stay again if we have a chance to return to Iceland.

Enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially in our wonderful cottage that Palmi designed and built in 2008 with the help of carpenters.

A couple of years ago, a few months after our youngest son was born, we decided to share our cottage with people from all over the world to help cover the cost of running two homes. A true "win-win" situation, especially since it has worked really well so far :-)
