Fully furnished seasonal cottage on quiet acre lot; surrounded by lawns and perennial gardens; 1 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen, sun porch, and patio; steps to Malletts Bay beach and glorious views of Green Mountains; 15 min to downtown Burlington.
Porters Point is entirely privately owned with no through road, so guests feel the peace of a place away. Neighboring properties are seasonal and year-round residences. Outdoor furniture is stationary and beach chairs are provided.
Guests have complete access to lawn, patio, gardens, and the beach, just a few steps down the path. Bring your canoe or kayak. Malletts Bay has a sandy bottom once you step off the pebbly beach and into gently deepening waters. A sandy town beach is accessible across the bay (1.8 miles by road). A large town park, a few minutes' walk for tennis, basketball, and other sports, is adjacent to a unique bog and to the Champlain Islands Bikeway, for travel south into Burlington or north to the Lake Champlain Islands by causeway and bike ferry.
Guests have complete privacy in the cottage and have sole use of the acre lawns and gardens. Property maintenance is carried out by the owners, to the mutual convenience of guests, as weather allows and conditions demand. Owners' reside on adjacent property, tend the gardens, and will be available, if needs arise.
The cottage temperature is controlled by daily weather. The lake is clean and inviting for swimmers and boaters. The beach faces east to the sunrise (see photo) and Vermont's highest mountain peaks.
Guests are welcomed into a quiet and restful environment on Porters Point. We have no allowance for pets nor for smoking on our property. We will provide a clean and well furnished home for you and expect that you will leave it at least as fine as you find it. Our plumbing relies on a septic system and leach field that have limited capacity, which is the reason we limit occupancy to two guests. If you have visitors, please advise them of our flushing, showering, and water usage constraints. We hope you will be both comfortable and careful.
