Apartment located in the village of Marina Grande, just a few steps from the sea and restaurants typical of the area.
What a wonderful location, right in Marina Grande. The waterfront is literally right in front of your window and watching the fishermen go about their day was great entertainment. The flat was clean and comfortable and equipped with most essentials. Well-suited for a family. The walk into Sorrento proper was up a hill, and walking through the medieval stone gates was my favorite part. There's a small fruit and veg shop next door and a small mini market just down the street for essentials. Lots of restaurants in town. The ones in Marina Grande were mostly closed when we were in town (low season). Overall a comfortable authentic stay, though being on the marina can get noisy.
Guido’s place is wonderful! The location next to the water is awesome, and being in a slightly more secluded part of Sorrento, it allows you to truly immerse yourself into the sea-side life of Sorrento! I would highly recommend staying at this place, but be mindful of very limited parking in the immediate area.
The apartment is clean, bright, and even more attractive than the photos might lead you to believe. The kitchen is very well equipped; great for making your own meals. The location right on the water is fantastic. There are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance, and a bar virtually under the apartment. For restaurants, I'd recommend Delfino and Da Emilia, in that order. The bar was great for evening espresso and an amaro, and for morning coffee and pastries. The only downside to the location is potential noise. On the last night of our three night stay, there was loud, blaring, bass thumping music being played from an adjacent restaurant/bar. This went on, unabated, until 1:00 A.M. Even with windows and shutters closed, my wife and I had to raise our voices to communicate with each other inside the apartment. It was as if we were inside a night club. Having said that, I'd still stay here in a heartbeat. It's a great, clean, spacious, well equipped, well located, comfortable apartment. This place is especially well suited for those who want a more authentically Italian experience than you're likely to get by staying in the tourist areas in the upper town.
