The room is part of a spacious 3 bedroom apartment in a 1926 building in the heart of Cairo; high ceilings, french doors - the whole deal. The apartment offers downtown street views, as well as quiet bedrooms - off the main street.
Home away from home - that´s how I like my guests to feel. Many good friends have stayed in this room, therefore it has a personal touch; and a proper desk - in case your trip is not strictly a vacation.
The bedroom offers a single bed, however an extra mattress can be added in case there's an extra guest.
Besides your bedroom, feel free to use the common areas and living room, kitchen is fully at your disposal as well.
The building has a doorman - bowab - and the main gate is locked at night. You will have your own keys.
A cleaning lady comes once a week.
There is a cat, however she is very shy so the chances you will actually see her are pretty limited.
Feel at home, respect the place and smoke only on the balcony, please.
One particular rule is to take your shoes off when you enter the apartment - slippers of all colours and sizes are provided.
Feel free to have friends over, parties are up to discussion.
I work partially from home, so I will be happy to be of help when needed. I like to cook, you are welcome to join me for lunch or dinner :)
Also, I love Cairo and by now know it quite well; will gladly provide tips and tricks for an enjoyable stay in this marvelous city.
Hello, I am Jana and Cairo´s been my home for the past 12+ years. I am originally from Slovakia.
I work as a freelance consultant and group facilitator so I work from home a lot yet also love to travel, be it for work or fun.
As a proper Cairene, I have a cat - Nabaweya - who is rather shy, so the chances that you´ll spot her around the apartment are pretty limited.
12 years later, I am still in love with Cairo and will be happy to share my tips and tricks with you so you can also discover its charms.
