We had a fantastic stay with Elizabeth. It's a charming property in a great location, and we can't wait to come back. Thanks for a lovely experience

Elizabeth's place was full of charm and character. We had a fantastic time and really appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a delightful house. Lounging by the pool in idyllic surroundings made for a very relaxing holiday. Elizabeth was extremely welcoming and gave us many tips on places to visit. We did find the early bell ringing from the church nearby a little intrusive but overall we would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. We - 6 adults (parents and brother of my husband and a very close friend) - rented Liz house as gite for three weeks. When my husband and me arrived (earlier than announced) Liz cat Duchess immediately said hello and make friends with us for the rest of our stay :) Then Liz opened the door to heartly welcome us. She showed the house, explained all needed and also left us some really tasty wine! The bedrooms were nice prepared for us and the baths were clean. We chose the big room with the balcony and enjoyed our first night there with good wine under sparkly stars. The architecture of the house is just funny and first you're a bit confused but get used to it after the first one or two days. Also the house is like you going on a treasure hunt: Every day you find something new interesting (books, games, things…). To use the pool it's a few meters through the garden of the house where Liz live. Don't forget to say hello to Heidi, her lovely dog ;) the pool and garden is just like heaven. So relaxing and I wished I was able to used it more often but we also had some colder and rainy days and also went on day trips very often. One little improvement tip of "longstayers" like us: It's for the dining room or the little terrace outside. There are three very comfortable bast chairs (ok there were four, but we accidentally broke one of them. :( So sorry!), the other "normal" chairs were not that comfortable for a long night talk outside or playing cards. But honestly I have to tell we also nearly never used the very comfortable chairs at the pool instead. Like someone wrote in a previous review there is some dust here and there in the common areas and some of the kitchen utensils seemed not to be used for a while, but this was no big deal at all. We're not that picky. And we knew nearly nobody cooks there very often because it's not rented as a gite but more often for b&b. So don't worry! :) The village is just cute, ideal to just relax or take a walk. Highly recommend to stop by at one of the endless wine yards around (or just go directly to Liz neighbor). With a car you have several options to explore the region and you won't get bored. Liz is just great! She is such a passionate, warm, outgoing and lively person. Always there and happy to help. You just had to love her! :) She always communicated very fast and also gave some very good tips, f. e. a very good restaurant and she also organized an awesome wine tasting at her neighbor for us (we bought many liters for home there). Even she just lived "next door", it never felt too close or something like that. Liz...

Lovely house in beautiful region - we were there for three weeks. Elizabeth was brilliantly accommodating, and a wealth of local knowledge and recommendations. Only disadvantages for us: firstly that the garden and lovely pool was across the courtyard in the main garden so we had to be careful getting the dog there. Secondly there was a disagreement between our dog and the resident dog, but this was soon resolved by Elizabeth - who was proactive with all queries. Great house, great vineyard next door, great location - would recommend.

I am an Australian woman who has been living in France since 1975. I have 2 grown-up children who are now married and have their own families - son and 4 children in Amsterdam and daughter with 2 children, living nearby here. I spent my first 15 years living in the Dordogne area restoring old stone houses with my partner. I moved from there to Paris where I had a very interesting, exciting and adventurous time working in the French cinema industry as a production coordinator. During that time, I found my 15th century house in Anjou which was dearly in need of some love and care, so over the years I've been restoring, renovating and generally having a great time bringing the house back to the land of the living. When I decided to retire I was able to acquire the adjoining property which has now been converted into a comfortable and I hope, hospitable haven for people who enjoy the history and architecture of "old" europe, good food and wine ....
