I offer a hosted, one-bedroom with ensuite half-bath, and shared shower facilities on the South edge of Stanford University. One guest maximum. Includes breakfast. Noise and drought-necessitated water usage restrictions apply.
You will enjoy a queen-size bed and your own 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) in my apartment-home, which is spacious, cheerful, light and airy, and, IMHO, pleasant and homey. Wireless internet is available, as well as a cable-connected HD TV in my living room. My apartment can be warm during our infrequent heat waves and cool in the winter, even with the central heating. A fan and space heater are available when needed. Bedroom quiet-time is between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. as a courtesy to my neighbors. Towels are provided and changed after three or four days stay.
You will receive the front-door key upon check-in. You have access to your room and half-bath (of course), the shower in the full bathroom, living and dining rooms, the deck, and the kitchen for microwave and toaster oven cooking, plus refrigerator space. Using audio is OK in the common areas at almost any time. Many guests have used the dining room table to spread out, plug-in, and enjoy coffee and snacks. Ample closet and drawer space is available in the bedroom. There is a laundry room where washing and drying costs $1.00 each. Visitors are not permitted without prior notice and approval, and are allowed only in the common areas. No land-line is available for guests.
If you have read my reviews, you know that I love talking to my guests and have learned much from them. However, many guests are very busy and highly scheduled, and I'm just fine with minimal communications, such as a "good morning" and "good night. I also expect a reasonable amount of communications about your planned comings and goings. Will you have to leave early? Will you be returning late? I text and hopefully you do too. I provide a comfortable bedroom for sleeping and relaxing; it is not an office nor a suite. If you are someone just looking for a cheap hotel room and are expecting the anonymity and the unfettered access of a hotel, you might be happier staying elsewhere.
